Its a stable beta, unlikely to be full of bugs.

I am very keen to try it out but too lazy to reinstall all apps and enter passwords etc.....

In that case I suggest you reconsider loading the Beta. If you don't like it, and it will be full of bugs, then you will lose ALL data when you roll back to stable. Read the beta announcement carefully. On my OP5, I've just waited for the stable updates and gone from v7 through to 10, each OTA update loading without an issue.

Yea I read it closely and find out if I want to go back I need to wipe everything, too late now as I am on the beta now!  However the experience is much better so far, wirh nicer UI and smoother in general plus some handy features.

Finally my PBtech 8 pro arrived today. NZpost is a PITA.

Out of the box, I've enabled VoWiFi and VoLTE. VoLTE is working as far as I know, but VoWiFi icon is not showing up, I might need to change the the carrier profile in the PDC tool.

Didn't bother enabling or testing 5G, since my VF SIM is not compatible (AFAIK) AND there are no 5G towers in my area.

On pbtech.nz is mentioned "20W New Zealand fast charger included.", but I wasn't sure if the original was removed or not. Was pretty surprised to see that there's was an oppo 5V/4A charger separately, and the 8 Pro box was still sealed with the Warp Charger. For the record, the Oneplus charger is a European model.

Hi.

I'd like to know how you got VoLTE working!

Additionally I would also like to know if anyone else has gotten 5G working especially since Android 11 is now a thing on the OP8/OP8Pro.

Thanks

5G is enabled for NZ on Oxygen OS 11/Android 11.

For VoLTE, see here.

I should have waited when I originally had it vs returning it. Nice to know a software update added it rather than it being completely disabled. Been stuck with an S20+ and quite frankly I missed the OP8 so I'm gonna pick it back up and sell the S20+.

As for VoLTE I see it's a bit hacky reading that thread. Any specific tweaks I can do to get it running on Kogan/VF?

Expert Infotech has it for $979 but unsure if it's the same IN2013 that PBTech sells or not, have enquired.

Anyone got 5G working?

Im on the Android 11 Beta and it shows the 5G settings in the menus but it doesnt show 5G when im in a 5G area, Takapuna to be precise. Skinny shows it as being a 5G area so i think i should be able to get it.

Yup - it claims I'm using 5G in Wellington CBD on my Kogan Mobile SIM, which apparently uses Vodafone network, on Android 11 Beta

Flashing xXx NoLimits (Magisk ROM) took care of VoIP. Regarding 5G, I didn't have the opportunity to test it.

I've used TOOL ALL IN ONE (from XDA) to root it, after unlocking the bootloader.

I did it while on Android 10. AFAIK it is a bit more complicated to root while on A11.

Hello, new here.

I am looking to get myself Oneplus 8 Pro from Expert Infotech in Auckland and from the comments, it appears we should aim to get the IN2023 model for 5G.

Does the new Android 11 update provide 5G for the IN2020 model? or is that only for IN2023 only?
