Snackos:Props to Huawei for the customer support by the way. They were excellent throughout the entire process. Faults happen, it's what companies do to fix them that separate the good from the bad.

100%. Compare this to the 4 or so other companies who had the same problem with edge/curved screen and considering the size of some of them, huawei not only produces the best phone but the best service.

And everyone has said even with the green bleed issue its the best phone they have owned, that i have read.

I notice LG have patented a 16 or 20 camera for its phones, now that will be interesting.

I think Huawei have hit Samsung for 6 on phones now. The s10 does little to impress me considering its next Gen. THe S9 is basically an S8 which can be rooted to be an S9 I believe.

Yeah I agree. Sorry I meant the S9. Looking at the S10 it could be game changing in different ways. Looks like its going back to flatter screen etc, which as a big handed person i like.

Yeah thanks Richard, I know. But was a firm flop :-). Sony and Fuji are the only sensors i trust outside Leica (sony being in Nikon etc).

I kind of meant like a regular phone like what we are seeing now, I dont think its far away. The rx100 does a lot of software magic for jpg like phones still, I mean 1" even is not a big sensor, but if they can get some big a$$ pixels out of it, it will totally rock the travel cam world, especially when Leica do things like offering different focal length lenses, giving a virtual optical zoom, i mean up to the mk 5 rx100 camera it was only going to 100mm, the 6 is out to 200mm, but start at a much higher aperture.

What is the max nits on the Mate 20 Pro Auto? I read today the P20 non pro is 600, besting the s9 by 20%, ok 1080p lcd, but still, at $650 with that Leica camera its becoming a fast contender for best value camera phone over the s8. of course the s8 offers amoled etc.

Im trying to figure out if the Mate 20 X offers extended features beyond the pro like the galaxy note, for work productivity etc with the stylus? Have to get my hands on one as I just love flat screen phones and I gotta get out of the galaxy S8. we got a bunch of nokias for staff, but I dont feel the n.7 plus is for me. I want that darn Leica. It mightly be partly Gas. But its like stamping something with quality its not just show boating.

Need, I dont see why, want perhaps. But honestly they at 0.6" now and have 4 lenses on that thing, Im no industrial designer but i cant see why they cant keep a number of lenses. The only limiting factor is how do you fit a 1" sensor into a phone form factor. personally id give up width for it.

My real point is, Huawei and Leica have taken camera phone technology in a GOOD direction. No need for ZOOm lenses in the traditional sense.

I just hope Huawei improve what Tripp pointed out with the updates. But then Ive found lg slow, samsung slow, pretty much anything non stock slow. Having only had one Huawei briefly Im yet to experience it.

Do you guys reckon we will get the 7.2" Mate 20 x in NZ (I mean in store to have a hold and play)? Or should I get family from Germany to buy one and bring it through used? I can see me freeing myself up from the notebook a bit with a decent BT keyboard. Would make going away and stuff a lot lighter etc and having 4g i dont have to worry if I dont have wifi. I know Word and stuff is not like on Win 10 etc, but just need basic read functions and email. Outside that it will be my go everywhere camera, I can see the 1" phones getting much less use and the FF mirrorless pretty much only for specialised stuff I enjoy shooting.

Its sick how close you can get with 85mm in macro.

thats what im curious about what lg is doing with their 20 lens patent (or is it 16).

but i thought you were meaning dslr sized lens, no, of course it would need a larger lens, but nothing wrong with that. the panasonic didnt fail due to the camera.

If in Auckland ring fonefix and take it in. I only waited an hour and it was replaced. There is no way pbtech can do a return and replacement by friday

Sweet will try that.

They know about the issue and will open the new phone to confirm it is not a LG screen. Just take everything in with you, charger, box, etc as they will swap the whole box
