K1000716: Latest Mobicity update:

First batch of Samsung Galaxy S2 shipping now, up to order 100027971 (AU) & 200002180 (NZ) and tracking details will be emailed tomorrow morning. Given the size of the courier pick up, it's possible that not all will make the cut off and start moving today. Please check your tracking for updates when you receive it tomorrow. More are shipping tomorrow; we'll send another update once details are confirmed, thanks!

Pretty happy with that as that includes my order. Smile

Me too! I'm glad I ordered about 3 weeks ago, because my order number isn't that far below the NZ cut-off.

I feel almost guilty about wandering down the road and picking up one last week now...almost.

I couldn't wait and take the chance that they didn't have sufficient stock. My current phone is pretty buggy now...

Have now received shipping details and mine is due to be delivered on Tuesday. Smile

TechRadar seem to like it a lot. Very comprehensive review at that link for those who have yet to see it.

Excerpt: "The Samsung Galaxy S2 has not only set a new bar for smartphones in 2011; it's smashed the bar, recreated it in its own image and put it out of reach of the competition."

and...

"The sat nav functionality was equally impressive – no need to download the voice software to make this one work for once, and we were off and running with a simple click of the icon – the Galaxy S2 managed to lock our GPS in less than five seconds, and we were away in no time at all."

Becoming interested in having a play with this phone. Roll on October, I'm thinking... :-)

Cheers,
R2D2

Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation has gone to its new
owner. Galaxy S3 has gone to its new owner. Now using Galaxy Note 3. Skipping Note 4 I think...

Received my tracking number from Mobicity about an hour ago. According to FedEx, the phone left Hong Kong, headed to the FedEx location in Guangzhou, China, and has departed there. ETA is Monday.

To all those expecting their SG2 within the next 7 days, congratulations!

(I'll quietly seethe with jealously until I get mine... :D)

Update: In transit at Singapore.

No doubt there will be a couple more stops before the phones hit NZ. I doubt they'll have arrived and gone through customs clearance until Sunday, so a depot pick-up is unlikely.

Now comes the wait until Monday Yell. I've got direct line of sight to the front door at work, where the phone is being delivered. The moment that the FedEx person comes through that door, I'll be out of my seat like a rocket.

This is the worst part! It's almost guaranteed that as soon as it arrives, something will happen to interfere with the moment (e.g. like a friend coming over to talk about a relationship problem; minutes will pass like hours). I'll take the phone off the hook and draw the curtains!

I'm planing the unboxing of mine like a first date... :D
