defragger: ^ Yep 9.0.2 installed flawlessly for me. Finding it very stable. No lag or programs crashing so far.

Did you do a full wipe from a different rom or did you already have Darkys v8 or something?

Had to full wipe as I was on criskelo's xxjpy. You can only no-wipe if you are upgrading from another version of Darkys, otherwise the ROM will wipe everything.

I'm using Doc and Stefunel's kitchen.  Many others are using Darky's ROMs.

Has anyone yet installed the Tegrak kernel?  I was told to wait until today (though that was told me last night by Tricky who is in the UK so I guess that means tonight at the earlies).  Tricky thinks it's the bees knees.

What does Tegrak's kernel do? does it have the same enhancements as speedmod?

All comments are my own opinion, and not that of my employer unless explicitly stated.

Yeah i've been using doc and stefunels kitchen aswell but I notice some of the base roms are a little outdated to what you guys are posting on here so I assumed there must be an alternative somewhere

I can't recall off the top of my head, other than Tricky being super impressed at how fast it was.

If you join the #romkitchen channel, type !kernel  that will open up the XDA post that has all information about the various Kernels, or look for Tricky's reply in the Doc thread and click his link in his signature.

Does the speedmod kernel you flashed with Darky's V9.0.2 have CWM Recov on it already?

Really liking gingerbread so far, the ui is much improved and certainly smoother. The aosp apps are well above samsung's and media scanner isnt running every 5 minutes thankfully. It's pretty solid now bar the few major bugs left.

Also the screen off animation is pretty awesome.

It's CM7 so full gingerbread but if you want to try it out you need to compile it from source and theres no support yet.

Ah thanks for that wazz! Havent checked out CM since version 6 froyo 2.2. There was a Captivate port and i tried it, looked great but far too many bugs. I wonder if the Captivate developers will try a port of CM7 or wait until pure 2.3 port is finished. I think supercurio and the CM team are working collectively on it still.

Some months back there was a problem with the internal and external disks showing up as a CD drive on the computer.  There was a link that explained how to fix it.  And someone even had some little command via SG Tools you could create a shortcut to.

Does anyone remember this, and happen to have the link handy?  The problem exists on my phone (again).  Just been too busy to write a post asking for the details ;-)
