OK so latest 6.1.0.0G OS build that got released to my phone yesterday includes a VERY BAD bug whereby it will randomly resend txts from your sent txt message history.  Very annoying - had people phoning me and txting me say WTF all day.  No idea how many it has sent and to who could be some or hundreds who knows?

Damn Meizu - such bad QA on their build releases!!!

Well since the update my phone has been going real slow - time to bin it.  I dont know what they have done but its now too slow to be useful.

As the starter of this thread I had high hopes for the Meizu phone but in hindsight I think I would have been better off just biting the bullet and paying more for a Galaxy or a One plus phone.

The Meizu was good for the money and lasted me a year or so which I cant complain about for the $270 I paid for it.

If anyone is experience slow performance and found a fix please let me know otherwise Im on the lookout for a new phone - any recommendations?

The only speed glitches I have are when browsing. An issue I put down to the OperaMAX bloat that came with an update. Disable that and page refreshes are as fast as my desktop.

When the a previous update disrupted my ability to use Google Now launcher, I swapped over the Microsoft Arrow. With the latest update Google Now is functional again, but I grown to like Arrow's alphabetical grouped app tray.

As an aside: Since the microphone on my trusty Nexus5 (that was a hand-me-down to my wife) has been a bit iffy at best, I bought my wife the entry level Oppo. It could have been built on the same production line as the M3. Just ColorOS seems is a little better polished than Flyme.

A little birdy told me we can expect Nougat 7.1 to be rolled out to M3 Notes sometime in September/October. Or is that for the domestic Chinese market only?

Also, this came into my inbox today, from AndroidAuthority. The Meizu 7 Pro (5.2) & Plus (5.7): http://www.androidauthority.com/meizu-pro-7-plus-review-798169/

I threw my meizu away and got a xaomi redmi note 4 and it's amazing. So much better than the meizu. I got the international version from gearbest.com for $150 USD. The redmi and meizu were my shortlist. In hindsight the meizu was the wrong decision. I highly recommend the xaomi redmi

Does anybody in this thread use their Meizu phone with the MyFitnessPal app? For my M3s the camera does not auto focus when scanning bar codes.

Since this thread seems to have its share of M3s discussion too, I've got a few issues with my 9 month old M3s. Before I bother contacting PB Tech for support, I thought I'd try my luck here.

1) I've been getting some streaking on my screen (similar to plasma line bleed). Particularly noticeable on the notification shade when pulling down to expose all the icons. Strangely I checked just now and it's not super obvious so maybe it's lighting conditions. I'll keep an eye on it, but anyone experienced anything similar? This is just annoying and I'm not too worried (other than as a possible indicator of future failure).

2) Yesterday my back button (soft touch) stopped working, the home button (full press) still works. This has happened before but a reboot sorted it, not this time. Makes it really annoying to use, but I've turned on SmartTouch so I can at least use a back button. Fingerprint scan is also not working. Looked online, some suggested reloading firmware with "clear data" but I'm on 6.7.4.11G beta which I haven't had many problems with and not sure if I should move to 6.1.0.0G which sounds buggy. Any other suggestions for how to fix this? I'm hoping it's software and not hardware but I'll only find out after clearing the data I guess.

3) Spontaneous shutdowns (or unresponsive screen?). Sometimes, the phone screen won't wake up. I'm not sure if it's shutdown or just won't light up but you have to hold down the power button for ages to force a reboot.

I guess my first port of call would be reloading firmware, reset the phone etc but not sure about backing up/restoring. Does that defeat the purpose? Is Storage & backup -> Data backup & restore good enough? My photos and most other important data is on my SD card I think.

I'd really like to know how anyone has gotten on with it. I held off on 6.1.0.0 but I'm having some issues and factory reset + latest firmware may be worth a go.

I updated to 6.2.0.0G recently and I haven't had any issues. I'm loving having the Settings shortcut in the pulldown again
