I just bought a OnePlus 8 Pro for a great price on TradeMe, IN2020 Black 12gb/256 version running OxygenOS 11.0.7.7IN11AA.

Based on the posts in here I assumed 5G would work fine on Vodafone on the IN2020, however I've not managed to pick up a 5G signal yet (Wellington CBD, Lambton Quay, in view of a bunch of telco antennae). Do I need a new SIM for 5G to work? I had asked in the Vodafone store, who said that I shouldn't need to...

Any tips on how to get connected? Loving this phone otherwise, especially for $750.

Well apart from missing band 28(quite needed for rural coverage), you will probably still have to gain root and/or modify kernel or LTE profiles.

(fair warning, you can brick your device doing this and i am not responsible for missing your alarm, causing nuclear warfare and or please don't use the device in a life threatening situation)

Thanks, I've read the whole thread and I am aware of the missing Band 28 but that is LTE, which is otherwise working fine in the city. Not so for 5G on my 8 Pro, which is what I am trying to get working. It sounds like for others the IN2020 has worked fine on Vodafone 5G, albeit the statement from PB Tech...

Maybe I'll try the method from a couple posts up

How many still have these phones?

Do any of you have issues with the Personal Hotspot on them? Specifically devices not being able to connect to them, incorrect password and no internet connection?

Still have my 8T. Still absolutely love it. Dropped it recently and cracked the back so have been thinking of moving to the 11.

I've been using the hotspot quiet a bit lately and had no trouble at all. I've had multiple devices connect to it, the same password as always had and no trouble with the internet connection.

I have an 8 Pro

in addition to this, it was working fine at the end of last year but i think one of the recent firmware updates has broken the DHCP server for the hotspot
