defragger: I got impatient and have just been itching to flash a new ROM for a while now, so just flashed a Doc's ROM I cooked up last night, a change from running Darkys. Very painless.

Just restoring my app/data using Titanium Backup, which I purchased and highly recommend others to do so. Makes backing up and reinstalling a breeze.

I think I have Flasher Fever :P

So far I'm liking it. Feels like it has a slight edge over Darky's in terms of responsiveness. This is just first impressions atm so could be just because it's a clean wipe/wiping dalvik cache etc. Will post proper and more accurate impressions tomorrow :)

Advice on what SpeedMod version should I flash, since 12KR is slightly outdated now?

EDIT: Found one small problem. The twWallpaper chooser view is all stuffed up and weird looking. Has blank tiles where icons of wallpapers should go and one icon that stretches it fully. Hmmm...

K12T is what I just flashed back to due some lag on K12U(Probably saw my post), K13A is the latest speedmod kernel, I looked on the xda thread for it and some people are having battery issues but that was only a few posts. Too me having used k12t for 3 days without issues it is the best option.

dont know if this could happen dual sim ? might for 2degrees and voda dont know for xt and voda (xt compatible )or if it could work at all.....

Settings>Display>Wallpaper>Lockscreen Wallpaper> Select Gallery and process com.android.settings crashes.

A bit of a bummer :( Hopefully I can fix it soon.

Settings>Display>Wallpaper>Lockscreen Wallpaper> Select Gallery and process com.android.settings crashes.

A bit of a bummer :( Hopefully I can fix it soon.

Not that it helps, but I don't get any FC when I repeat the same steps (choosing Gallery over Root Explorer and Astro).

EDIT: I wonder if some of the scripts in SGS Tools might help. There's a Clean_thumb_db.txt (and a "clear" of the same type). Those "thumb" ones are related to the Gallery. And under: Upgrade Stock apps, there's one for the Gallery, you could try that if you feel inclined.

Do you have the stock e-mail client installed? Strange as it may sound, I've seen people on XDA with the exact same issue you describe who have upgraded to the Galaxy Tab e-mail client.

AppBrain Weirdosity...

Bumped the ROM up from JPU to JPY and besides the usual batch of FCs and restoring TB backups, all seems fine. Except AppBrain. It now appears to think that it's running for the first time, every other time I fire it up, with the dialog that asks if I want an icon on the home screen, even though there is one there. And now the app asks for me to log in using my Google account (like, duh...) when it never used to.

I'll do some research on the issue, but if anybody here has stumbled over such weirdness, I'd be grateful for your experience.

Before and after Quadrant scores following OCLF are 1219 vs 1750 in case anyone's interested. (Caveats as to worthlessness of benchtesting duly noted, dangers of believing in benchmark juju understood, likelihood of contracting major psychological illness from believing in Quadrant scores accepted, etc etc etc...

)

JPY is stock except for the kernel which I replaced with a 3BR 2e CF modded version (for unsigned Update.zip reasons).

None so far - remember that K13A is identical to the later K12 releases except for the CWM colour selection options. The key issue for battery life is turning 3G off:

- Unplugged phone from charger yesterday morning, left 3G on all day, had a couple of calls, 10 minutes of web browsing, and a few app updates. . . last night at 10:00pm I had 71% left.

- This morning, after disabling 3G/Wifi, I still had 71%, so no drain overnight at all.

I still think it's as much to do with the modem, or specifically the kernel/modem relationship as the kernel itself; I think we tend to blame the kernel for bad battery life when it's often not that at all.

Will be interested to see the experts' opinions on changes to the modem in JS5.

One thing lokhor reminded me of the other day when I was having problems with Gmail was to go into Settings | Applications and then force stopping the app, then clearing the cache. I wonder if something similar would kick it in the guts for you. You could also uninstall it and reinstall it [shrug]

I don't get this, when you flashed the rom did you do a cache partition wipe and a dalvik cache wipe along with the factory reset?

By the way, thanks for the in depth on k13A Nofam, I've already flashed it, just paranoid
