Yea, we bit disappointed with no IP rating - not fussed on wireless charging. Would have been nice to see QT as I have (and i imagine others) a few existing QT charges.

@NikT - any further details on possible NZ release? And if you'll be doing some sort of combo deal?

Think I will stick with my OP5 nothing that is drastically better than the OP5.

They need to get rid of dash and put in USB PD. I don't use the Dash charger now as the cord is to short and because it is not built to the USB Spec the cord they supply is the only option. and for me going back to a rear fingerprint sensor is a major pain.

The only real gain for me is the slow mo camera as there have been quite a few times where I have badly needed it when diagnosing issues.

Yes we'll be ranging. No ETA or pricing. Won't be for a while yet.

I was wondering if the release of the IP rating was perhaps a procedural issue for external QA?

"Thanks to water resistance, your OnePlus 6 is well-equipped to survive a drop in the sink or a spilled glass of water. Just don’t take it for a swim"
Its all a bit wishy washy so to speak......

Well this is a let down.  No IP rating, no wireless charging (why have a glass back then).

I used to wonder why anyone would need waterproofing on a phone, until I got a S7 edge, and find myself taking it out in the kayak (tied on with a bit of cord) or swimming at the lake up the road with the kids without having to worry about waterproof cases, etc.
An IP rating of some sort more than splashproof is pretty well a deal-breaker for me now.

At 469 pound, it must be on price point for under 999 you would hope.
I can certainly bring one in from clove for that price if need be.

Wireless would have been nice but otherwise its fairly predictable. Have to see it in the flesh to see if I could love it.
Hopefully locals can bundle up, otherwise my interest is waning.

There will never be bundles for products which are not officially available in NZ. Their being available locally at all is a bonus.

I'm tempted to buy it direct from their US store and ship it via YouShop, but I'm unsure if YouShop/NZ Post will refuse it as it contains a lithium battey.

Edit: Checked YouShop terms and conditions, doesn't look like cellphones are prohibited, only standalone lithium batteries or power banks are.

I'm considering, but doing the maths:

- $840NZD for the phone (128gb)

- ~$30NZD Shipping (YouShop) (estimated package size/weight)

- ~$180 for import/custom fees

- total = ~$1050

For that price, i'm not particularly keen to own a device with no NZ consumer protection. If a place like PB can bring it in and sell for around that price point i'd much rather wait.

Of course the whole customs thing is a hit and miss, so who knows?

I'd like to get the 8GB/256GB version, highly doubt PB will stock that, or at least don't think they would any time soon. I waited forever for them to stock the 8GB version of the OP5 and in the end I just gave up on the device (not sure if they ever did get it). I'm very impatient to move on from current phone. :)

Another reason I want to get the US version is because of the extra LTE bands which would come in handy as I plan to travel to the US and EU in the near future.

Edit: Order placed and accepted! Device is set to ship tomorrow and arrive at YouShop by next week.

Well looks like i'm now back in the market. Dropped my phone on the ground earlier this week cracked the screen and damaged the back case :( really annoyed that I dropped it but still in the 10 or so years I have been using smart phones this is the first one I have managed to drop and crack so I guess I can consider myself lucky that it took this long to happen.

$410 +GST to fix and would need to be with them for a few weeks to get the parts in so that's not really an option given it's almost half the price of what the OP6 should be when it gets here and I cannot find a OP5T anywhere I would trust looks like the only option is an OP6.

So now i'm in the camp waiting for it to come here, hopefully PBTech will get the OP6 in soon.

See there is now a price on one of them at Dick Smith, pretty high might as well get a Pixel 2 or Huawei P20 Pro: https://www.dicksmith.co.nz/dn/buy/oneplus-6-256gb-midnight-black-oneplus/

Reckon the 128GB will be $150 cheaper.

Update: Ah found them at becextech.
