With the space shuttle up on it's last trip anyone downloaded the NASA TV app and watched this on their HD TV via their Sensation?? I see that the Ipad has a HD TV version but i can't see it in the android app store but as I only have a lowly Galaxy3 the app store may know that I can't do HD so doesn't list it..

Gilco2: Hi, I posted  a while back about this phone freezing/ rebooting etc.  Someone said sounds might be faulty.  It is slower than my desirehd by a long way. I have just received reply from supplier saying phone wont be faulty but it will be caused by moboplayer. They want me to do reboot to factory and have no software installed apart from factory. I know it will still be slow.  How can I watch a video mp4 without installing additional software as Watch says cant find any video file and there is no option to find them for it.  I noticed when phone plays up it vibrates and will go to voice or email or some other app on its own. Other times it will reboot sometimes it wont switch off.

Have you tried Gallery for playing video? it supports some formats but not all. also DicePlayer on the market supports a lot more video formats with hardware acceleration.

as for your other issues I am not sure if it is faulty. Have you tried updating your firmware?

Hi thanks. I did factory reset and still the same.  I bit the bullet and did the system update that was available and so far seems to be okay now. Time will tell. Still a lot slower responding and opening than my desirehd is though. The desirehd was almost instant. This before the update took about 5 seconds before opening now it is 1 to 2 seconds before it opens anything, but so far behaving.

Interesting, I hadn't even noticed the LinkedIn app (also because I'm not a user I guess). Which other apps updated?

I knew you'd ask that haha, and sorry but I can't remember all of them, but I do remember Tapatalk updated, and possibly Swiftkey X Beta?

csew004: I have the same issue with my Sensation.  It did go away for a little while after a reboot but has come back to stay.  Not a big deal for me, but if anyone knows of a solution I'm keen to hear!

Managed to find some info on the Phantom SIM icon, and from what I can tell it is consistent with the experiences of the people in this forum.
Interesting that it is only affecting VF Sims, and from the looks of it JohnR has already been asked about it a few times with no solution.

Only became an issue when I had to replace my stolen SIM.

Those are user installed apps though, so their updates don't have anything to do with the firmware upgrade do they?

I wouldn't have thought so, no. Just coincendence probably, but it did happen straight after, so who knows?

Nice!

EDIT: Ooh, just saw this http://www.4u-mobi.com/onlineshop/online_shop_detail.php?pid=5733 - looks like a nice solution to the Sensation's battery life!

So you can charge the phone and a spare battery at the same time?

Sorry if this is old news, but it looks like HTC are unlocking all the bootloaders across their devices. HTC Sensation is up first.

Does this link seem a fair representation of your experience(s) of battery usage on the Sensation? I realise that it's been updated, but keen on thoughts.

It's going to depend on how you use it, that's for sure.

Unless I'm hammering it (shooting video and playing it back. playing audio continuously, shooting and viewing stills etc), the battery is lasting all day. It's going on charge in the evening (11pm-ish) and back on battery around 7am each day. There are times when it doesn't make it, normally when I'm heavily testing for instance, but with my 'normal' use, it's getting through the day until bedtime. That's probably what you'd expect of a dual core phone running at 1.2GHz with a 960x540 display and a battery the same capacity as you'd find on a phone with a single core, running slower and with a smaller display.

Which brings up a salient point - why is the Sensation's battery not a larger capacity? The aftermarket will no doubt take care of that need, but HTC could do well to make it available.

Your link reveals that the original hardware tested had a higher power consumption than the later model that they received, the latter getting through the day with 30% remaining. So I'd say "yes" to your original question that the replacement Sensation's performance certainly fairly represents my experience.

Unless I'm caning it of course. :-)

Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation has gone to its new
owner. Galaxy S3 has gone to its new owner. Now using Galaxy Note 3. Skipping Note 4 I think...
