Just got my tv this morning. Not sure if I'm going to take it out of the box just yet. Was thinking about using it as a preview monitor for editing footage on my PC but it's not a full HD display, just 1366x768.

Wonder how many of these will end up on Trade-Me. I was thinking about selling it to offset the cost of the phone.

I'm using mine as monitor in my office, as it is significantly better than the old veon 32" I was using. You're right resolution is 1366x768 but for my purpose, which is largely text based reporting it is plenty clear enough

I'm looking at getting a second wireless charger for the office, and someone here suggested a good cheap charging base from Aliexpress. I've also seen recommendations for Choetech chargers from Amazon.  However, it seems that some of these chargers don't come with the fast charge wall adaptors, or they are US-style chargers.  So, does anyone have any recommendations for the fast charge NZ wall adaptors necessary to drive the fast charge wireless pads? And for that matter, it would be good to pick up a few spare USB-C cables to have around the house - any recommendations there?

That looks like a good price, especially if it really is a genuine Samsung charger.  But it doesn't look like it includes the wall adaptor.

I’m pretty sure none of the Samsung original charging pads come with the wall adapter. Certainly the original non-convertible version doesn’t. I’m not sure which third party chargers include it in the box

Happy to buy the NZ wall adapter separately, especially if it means I can buy the charging pads cheaper off Aliexpress.  Just not sure which ones are good/good value.

Moving from an S7 with 256gb microsd to the Note 8. The microsd card has my photos and downloaded Spotify songs on it.

Do i have to do anything special to move it from the old phone to the new, or is it as simple as throwing it in the new one and Gallery and Spotify will see it there and adjust accordingly?

My battery case arrived today

It makes it thicker (~2cm) which is awesome because it is so much easier to hold in the hand to write on.

Still waiting on i-blades to announce their wallet+battery case as with my new battery-only case, the screen feels exposed for damage.

I got an olixar super thin clear gel case today. For reference, it is almost identicle to the supplied hard plastic case from samsung. Except its flexible gel type and it also cover the bottom of the phone u like the samsung one where it has nothing. I believe its the thinnest gel case out there, however it would offer little protection against drops.

I received my Spigen Thin Fit case and Spigen CD car mount today from Amazon. I know you can get these from PB Tech but it cost me $46 NZ for both, with delivery. That's $20 or so cheaper then PB Tech when I last check, still cheaper then when PB Tech had a sale last week. Any way, I was actually happy with the included Samsung case but I wanted to try a magnetic mount so I went a compatible case (although it seems any case would work since the magnetic pads are so thin).

I'm a big fan of Android Auto but unfortunately drive a 2004 Subaru Legacy so this is my poor man's solution.

The case is good. Fits well and is really thin and has a nice texture back to help with grip. I only installed the car mount but haven't done a long drive yet but it seems sturdy. Actually takes a bit of effort to pull the phone off! Hopefully it stays steady while driving.

Don't see how to edit my post but I just wanted to as an update about the Spigen case and mount I posted about. Took a drive today and the mount is really a solid. The magnets used are really strong so happy with this solution.

I bought a supposed Samsung Fast Adaptive Charger from Trademe and it arrived last week.  On the outside it looks like the genuine article, however while it does fast charging when connected via a USB C cable, when connected to my genuine Samsung Fast Wireless Charging pad it only charges at the normal rate.  The wireless pad will do fast wireless charging with the charger that came with my phone, so it's definitely the 3rd-party charger.  I suspect that it is not actually a genuine charger (and not really surprised, given the price).

Anybody that ordered the Whitestone Dome from mobilefun, how long did it take to arrive? I'm trying to wait for it before I take my Note out of the box, but not worth it if that's a month away..

TV arrived today, not sure whether I can put it to good use or if I should sell it
