I have a completely different issue, phone randomly opens Google Assistant asking if I said Ok Google, and no....I'm not listening to the Burger King 'Whopper' commercial. Happens a couple of times each day.....not really an issue, but a bit random. Anyone else experience this (it's only happened since the last update)

The battery fix is for the Pixel only.  The changelog posted above by @Yellow15 is the Pixel changelog.  The 7.1.2 Nexus changelog is below, note the lack of battery shutdown fix:

Hey Everyone,

Today, and over the next few weeks, we will begin the rollout of Android 7.1.2 to Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, and Pixel C. This update contains a number of bug fixes,

added features, and general performance/stability improvements.

A few changes and updates that we want to highlight are listed below:

  •

    Enhanced notification stability

  •

    Fingerprint swipe on 5X/6P

  •

    General connectivity improvements

  •

    Battery usage alerts

If you have any specific questions, feel free to post here in the community, and we’d be happy to help out!

(If a mod can fix the formatting, that'd be great. It looks fine in the editor)

Had the phone cut out a few times recently, the red low battery mode turns on and then begins shutting down. Used the torch on it last night and went from 30% to off in a few seconds :(

Anyone having issues with the charging plug? In the last two weeks or so I have noticed that it doesn't always start charging when I plug the cable in. When I wriggle it around it usually starts. Occasionally I have set it to charge overnight and come out in the morning to it only being 60% charged when it was down to say 20% when I went to bed. I have three different USB C cables and chargers so it isn't the charger. After 18 months I'm wondering if the 600 or so times the cables has been plugged in/out has worn out the socket? I bought off 2 Degrees, anyone know if this is covered under warranty?

Does anyone know if the Nexus6P bought through the geekzone deal has 1 year or 2 years warranty?

I thought it's 2 years but just tried to send mine back for repair and was told it's only 1 year :(

CGA should have you covered if it's not a business phone....normal usage would have a 6P last more than 12 months

Same here - almost guaranteed to shut down the moment battery level hits 15%.  I am happy to accept reduced battery life over time but to have it die at 15-25% battery left isn't acceptable.

It also pretty much kills the resale value of the phone.

Maybe those of us with the Nexus 6P battery shut down should do a combined CGA claim - potentially much stronger impact than individual voices...

I did last year, about a month before the warranty ran out!

Charger completely stopped working. So i contacted both Huawei and 2DM, got given the run around as 2D said it was policy to return both the phone and charger for testing.

Long story short i convinced the repairer in AKL to let me send just the charger as i had isolated the problem to just the wall charger. Use the CGA and say it should last for a reasonable period of time, which is all true of course.

Battery still sucks though, turns off at around 20%.

I would be keen to join a letter to 2D, or Huawei about the battery issue. The Android Police comments section on this topic is interesting reading!

Looking through my documents it appears that it was only 1 year warranty. Pretty disappointing that. I was expecting 2 years for this sort of device.

Thanks.  Yes it seems to be 1 year only :(  Funny thing is when i sent it back for a repair last year, 2 degree told me it has a 2 year warranty (but only verbally). But now I went back there, they said it's only for the newer purchase.

So anyway,  I don't think my 6P is worth fixing as I also have really bad battery issue apart from can't turn on the phone anymore,  and just got myself a P10.

Have just recently been getting random bootloops where the phone reboots itself for a couple of minutes.

Thought it could have been my last ROM on PureNexus so clean flashed to the new build, still happening.

Phone was purchased from 2Degrees in November 2015 so out of warranty.

Has anyone done an RMA with 2Degrees?

Found this website too: http://consumer.huawei.com/nz/support/warranty-query/index.htm

Put in your serial number and it tells you when your warranty is valid to. Mine is telling me it has a 2 year warranty, however I thought it was only 1 year.

Hmm mine also says that exact date...what are the odds? Or could the website be borked.
