Not sure if this has been posted but I came across a DivX/Xvid player for the Desire.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=703078

I can now drag and drop a .avi file onto my phone and play it.  No need to convert it to an mp4 or sync it with iTunes ;-)

Dawg: How long did it take to get through customs?  Mine is with them now.

Straight through as far as I could tell from tracking.

Also can anyone else got onto androidforums?

I just discovered the wonders of Handcent SMS. That new blue LED notification is awesome. I can now finally tell if it's an email or SMS from the notification light!! :D

App Du Jour, Pocketcloud, it took me about 2 minutes to be able to remote control my PC from my phone via VNC. Fantastic.

HTC Desire Cell Phone Signal Antenna Booster here - http://www.onlydesire.com/htc-desire-booster.html . Does this improve on the Vodafone/2degrees frequency?

I think these 'cell phone antenna boosters' have been roundly de-bunked, laughed at and dismissed by the knowledgeable for years.

If anything, I would think they partially block the signal - after all, you are putting some metal film between the phone and the signal.

Want a real cell phone booster? Get a parabolic metal wok and put your phone at the focal point, then aim the dish at the cell tower.

I posted weeks ago about my new Desire going into a continuous reboot cycle.  I ended up sending it away, and it's finally back.

The problem is (thankfully) fixed - it looks like a new system board was put in, as the wireless MAC address and phone serial number are different, but the screen is the same (how do I know?  Damned bright pixel right in the middle!).

Anyway, I have a 2degrees SIM (I got it right when 2degrees first came out) and am keen to use the Desire with 2degrees.

However, the 2degrees SIM just doesn't work in the Desire.  It comes up with "Limited service", "Emergency calls only", and there are <b>no</b> reception bars at all.

The annoying thing is that my vodafone SIM works fine in the Desire, and the 2degrees SIM works fine in my ancient SonyEricsson.

The 2degrees Hell Desk just tell me that "there's a clash with your phone and the 2degrees SIM" - I'm about to email 2degrees to see if they can give me a better answer, but can anyone on here give me a clue about what needs to be done?

Has anyone used the Belkin Micro USB Car Charger with their Desire? Does it even work?
http://store.apple.com/nz/product/TW379LL/A

I am contemplating getting one from Trademe, they have it on DailyDeals for $26 (incl shipping) today.

I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who has used it.

Anyone have trouble with APN? I never seem to get a HSPA connection when I am in a building, for example at Wellington Airport at the international arrival gates I could not get one, Surely I should be able to? I have checked all the settings with the ones on wireless.vodafone.co.nz and they are correct, and I can get a connection at work where it is a bit more open, but i have wifi there anyway.
