got 4.4.2 on my Telecom handset, Telecom SIM. im also finding this update running smooth with no problems mentioned above.

today as an example, was at a all day conference so checking work emails all day, photographs, twitter feed updates almost all morning/afternoon - some browsing and videos this evening (reading up on the making of 'MONSTERS' 2010 movie from the director of the latest Godzilla - astounding film for effectively a one-man production) so you can see the 'awake' times being pretty consistent all day, never really gave the phone a break.

almost 5 hours screen on time for whole day is not bad to get to almost empty. using a LightGrid livewallpaper as well which is constantly animating that grid of squares you see on the homescreen. usually i only average about 2.5hrs screen on time per day and that results in about 60% battery remaining by the time it goes on charge at bedtime

for a stock unrooted ROM i think thats reasonable performance - i can see that the claimed 8hrs screen time on the rooted optimised ROMS would be easily achievable.

Note3 4.4.2

Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005, on Telecom 4G LTE.  ROM: Stock Touchwiz, Android 4.3, XUDMJ6  MODEM: MJ4  Kernel: Stock (for now...:)

From the roms that I have tried - I've gotten 48 hours at a stretch on a charge, so your usage seems pretty decent!

Hi,
New Note 3 user but long time Android user (S3, S4, HTC One).

One week since I started using it ..
I lost all my stored WiFi passwords yesterday including my home and work that I connect to regularly.

There seems to be some threads on internet reporting the same issue since they updated their phones to KitKat. I am running KitKat since I got my phone and this is the first time I had the issue.

The only thing different I tried yesterday after work was to connect with Telecom Free Wifi near Britomart (I am on Telecom), but I could not manage to login because I was in a car and lost signal to it. I dont think that would have triggered it though.

Its frustrating to enter the passwords again and again, specially at work where my SSID is hidden. Some users reported to loose their saved passwords every second day as well and disabling Google backup and Sync did not help them.

Anyone else have similar problem?

Thanks

Are you rooted? If so you can use apps like titanium backup to back them up to an xml or another file

I don't have this issue at all. What I do notice though the wifi strength is much better -same place, same spot, reception is much better.

I have an issue with images... cropping images in the gallery is screwed up.. it can't select the left and right edges of the image, either in portrait or landscape mode. This is a feature that I use quite a lot, so would certainly like to get other's feedback on this.

Just using factory kitkat update.

actually it happened to me three times on 3 brand new GS4 handsets, I couldn't find the solution for it but returning the phone to reseller. It's not happening on my NOTE 3, but i noticed the note 3 battery life getting worse than before, android system and android OS seems comsuming the most power, i have to change GPS location mode to power saving instead of high accuracy to last longer.

my note3 does not have this wifi issue. in fact since kitkat update its been pretty good, so much so that i havent seen the need to root it, this is the longest ive ever owned an android handset without having to resort to rooting to fix things, which perhaps is a testament to how well android has matured, or how much samsung have learned not to screw their builds??? not sure which is more accurate there :) either way it really seems to be running excellently, and my GPS has greatly improved as well (NC2 baseband, 4.4.2 ND3 build)

but TBH my eyes cant help but look towards IFA and the NOTE4 announcement. not too interested in a "4K" screen (i dont think its necessary other than for bragging rights/more strain on the battery) but a 16mp stabilised camera would be ideal - i dont know what else they can throw in there to sweeten the deal but a new design aesthetic might do it.

secretly hoping for a curved sided display YOUM style -  but, that may be too much to wish for. :)
