I'm getting a little worried ... US mobile network Verizon has announced that the Droid Incredible will be shipped out on June 22.
The Incredible uses the same screens as the Desire (manufactured by Samsung) which, I'm speculating, is causing the delays on stock availability.
If the Incredible won't be available until after June 22, do you think that the Desire will be pushed back to that date too ?
I checked on Clove's website and they still have the "stock delayed until the first week of June, exact arrival date to be confirmed" message up. Crossing my fingers!

Just remember, they sometimes catch up with that later - pretty sure I read on another thread of people getting a GST bill from Customs several weeks after their gear arrived?
when I ordered the n95 it was weeks in customs before they released it .. go slow I recon. Fingers crossed .
I hope this was an exception, haven't seen too many other posters who've imported phones mention unreasonable dealys getting parcels through customs.
I've had delays in Customs when stuff has been sent through the post and there is no import agent on the case. Customs wrote me a letter....and I had to go there physically and pay money and pick the goods up. It took days more than using DHL.
One of the big advantages of DHL is the goods go through Customs in 20 minutes (according to web tracking) and then you phone them and pay the money over the phone...and you get your goods later that same day (Auckland).
Example: Last week I called DHL about my Nexus One at 08:30am, paid the GST by credit card. Web tracking then showed the hold removed at 9:00am, it had arrived at my local depot (11:32) and then telling me at 12:04 it was out for delivery. It was in my hands at 13:51.
In my opinion this is serious added value...and I don't mind paying for it.
Hey Linuxluver, I ordered a Desire from Clove and it is currently in Auckland (I live in Christchurch) and the status on web tracking says 'Clearance processing complete'. Does that mean my phone will sit there until I contact DHL and ask them about GST? Or will the phone be shipped to me regardless?
kiwitrc: shreyas, I would say its on its way to you now, and its most likely FEDEX rather than DHL. Have you got a tracking number?
Yea I have a DHL tracking number and it says 'clearance processing complete' on the tracking page. I contacted DHL this afternoon and they asked me to call back on Monday to pay the duty/taxes (accounts team do not work over the weekend) after which it'll be sent on its merry way to Christchurch.
Funny that I had to contact them first though. Oh well, I hope I get it on Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
How much is the duty to be paid if we get stuff from abroad? .. Also wat other sites apart from Clove are out there who provide reliable service? .. thanks.
