I got mine directly from Google's Australian store, should be here next week.

I get the warning in the AU store, "To place an order, your delivery address must be in this region" how are you getting it delivered locally?

My bestie lives in Brisbane - having it delivered to her, and she's shipping it to me *Sneaky cackle*

so, there is the list of 5g compatibilities per model. If people wanted to check & compare.

Supported bands is unlikely to be an issue - even if the phones hardware will work fine on 5G in New Zealand Google will still disable it in software for some asinine reason, just like they do with VoLTE.

Yes that's exactly the problem, as described in many other earlier pixel model topics.

I just bought one from amazon, listed as the UK(GB) version, so no camera shutter, and the price included the GST. The price seemed really reasonable and it's from amazon itself, not  a random seller, so hopefully it will be okay!

Estimated shipping is between october 23 and... dec 22, though. I'll hope for sooner over later.

(I was going to say "long-time lurker, first time caller", but it turns out I already had an account from back when I bought the Pixel 2. Which I'm still using until the 7 gets here. Goodbye, free photo storage.)

Have they shipped your order yet? I ordered a P7 on Sunday and there is no update for me. Now I see that MACROMART (UK) is the retailer selling it, seems like Amazon UK doesn't currently have any stock... I hope I'm wrong though...

Well I have just taken the plunge and ordered a green P7, this one https://www.expansys.co.nz/google-pixel-7-5g-dual-sim-single-nano-sim-and-esim-8gb-128gb-lemongrass-391118/

Looking forward to see what happens next.

Anyone recommend a good case and screensaver?

I ADORE latercase's cases - I had one for my iPhone 11 Pro Max, have one on the way for my Pixel 7 Pro https://latercase.com/products/google-pixel-7-pro-thin-case

I've had Spigen cases for my past three phones, they're awesome. Good range from thin to high protection. I use the thin ones, I don't often drop my phone but the occasional time I do it's been well protected and suffered no damage. Spigen Pixel 7 / pro cases here.

Seconding Spigen! I used otterbox for years and I still love them for extreme protection, but they're current offerings are kinda ugly. I've been using a spigen hybrid for a few years on my 2 and it's been amazing, even with a few chips from me dropping it!

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. They haven't shipped or taken my money yet, and my estimated date is "By Dec. 22". So long as the price stays competitive (under $1150 NZD), I'm going to try to be patient. If there are black friday deals going around next month though, to drop it below that magic $1k import threshold, I will buy somewhere else. Even though there aren't any available when I click on the listing, my order still clearly says "Sold by: Amazon UK", so I'm not worried about shenanigans the way I would be if it was just becextech selling thru amazon.

Actually good to hear you're in the same boat. I was starting to worry the payment might've been blocked by my credit card but they weren't telling me.

I've just heard back from MightyApe that their stock is the Japan version for sure, so keep that in mind for anyone wanting the security of a semi-local storefront!

Thankfully a mate if mine is going to Aus next week on holiday and is going to pick one up for me from a mall somewhere. So I've got lucky, otherwise Expansys would have been my go to for getting a P7P!

I asked amazon support about my order and according to what they said it's still in stock. I don't know why the one sold by Amazon UK is not listed on AU store anymore. Here is the listing(the model that I order) on the UK one and it's showing up for me just fine...

I think I'm going to wait for few more days and see what happens next.

How's the in-screen fingerprint sensor on the Pixel7? My wife has the S22 and it's ok, but not awesome. Hardware fingerprint readers are much easier / faster.

IIRC, based on what I've heard from some youtube review, it's on par with 6a which is better than the one one P6/P6P. I never had a P6/P6P, so I don't really know if that's true or not. Though I've also seen people complaining about it not working on the pixel subreddit.

The in-screen one on the S21 is fantastic so surprised to read your not-so-good review for the S22. My S22 fingerprint reader works >99% of the time (even with sweaty/wet fingers) which is better than the hardware one on iPhones I had previously (generally only worked around 50-75% of the time even given good conditions i.e. dry fingers). I had a hardware fingerprint reader on an Xiaomi which was also a bit iffy. Probably does vary depending on your finger(print) though.
