WARNING!!

So I plugged my phone into Kies last night and upgraded to 2.3.3 - no problem at all - went to bed a happy chap.

Got to work this morning to discover that post upgrade my phone had sent email cancellation messages for every past reoccurring meeting in my exchange calendar - over 17,000 emails! Not a very happy CEO or IT staff this morning!! some staff had received over 800 cancellation emails from my exchange account! - What gives? I've had a look around and others have reported this but so far no answers??? Any ideas?

I'm running stock 2.3.3 via KIES and using the built in email / calendar exchange app on the SGS I9000T.

FYI in case you're considering doing the upgrade and have an exchange account.

Was it a company fone or your own?? If a company fone I'm not surprized that they hit you over the head with a big brick and say your fired next time you do this. :-)

sorry to combo-break this company IT exchange email discussion :) but i just have to say, after poor battery performance from the Galaxian kernel (high idle drain overnights and seemingly sluggish performance ~1500 quadrant scores, slow to respond to homescreen pans etc) i decided to try damianGTO's kernel again.

it wouldnt work on Darky's 10.2 due to custom boot animation but i then found his CWM script that disables the boot animation and gets his kernel working again. managed to install his RC1 version of the 2.2 Ginger kernel

result - insane speeds and responsiveness once again. JVQ is flying and im clocking over 3000 in quadrant - while the figure may be debatable as to a measure of performance, im comparing it against the previous kernel in the exact same rom setup, same clock speed and governor, same EXT4 filesystem - so i can say there is definitely something happening under the hood now :D i recommend it! whatever this damian is doing, its working

my current cold-snap frosty homescreen, with a bit of BattStat, D-Clock, and OneSeven widgeting

even got the 4-tab lockscreen working in Darky 10.2 using a customised EDT Tweak apk

and getting great 3G performance on XT with the new JW2 modem :) happy camper

Is anyone else running the stock Telecom 2.2 and finding when they go to upgrade to through Kies they get a "this version of the device cannot be updated"

Very annoying as I have checked a few Stock Telecom 2.1 phones and they have the 2.3 upgrade available.

Do I need to roll back to stock 2.1, what is the easiest way to do this ? I know the stock Telecom 2.2 got pulled because of issues but you think Kies would still allow an upgrade from 2.2 as 2.3 is a newer version.

So seems like my phone is suffering from small amounts of lag again. I am sure it always does this after I flash a new ROM. Works awesomely for the first few days and then starts slowly suffering from micro-lag where just basic functions like opening contacts slows down.

I have read somewhere that this is kind of common for the SGSI i.e. that the micro-lags appear a few days after the flashing of a new ROM. Anyone else experienced something like this? Or is it just me?

ext4. I don't know maybe I'm just being too pedantic about the whole thing. It runs fine sometimes and then other times has micro-lags appearing.

i notice the same thing dont worry, and i think its us being too pedantic sometimes also. however different kernels make the biggest impact to this - as does the govenor you use. a smooth kernel to begin with is a must, and if you swap to Ondemand governor you'll find that microlag stuff disappears quicksmart. i ran 1000mhz and ondemand for a while and it was pretty snappy the whole time. but my mind seemed to think this was heavier on battery than it needed to be, so i switched to 1200mhz conservative, and am very happy now.

on kernels like darkcore, speedmod and galaxian this effect was more pronounced than damanGTO or talon kernels

now I've got up to step 5 and started Odin but it has got to a certain point with no progress in about 20mins+ and it says should only take like 2-3 mins on video

Sometimes Odin dies during transfer, it's happened to me and I just rebooted back to download mode and tried again.
