Damager: Any ideas when Voda NZ will release Oreo now that the rollout is on again?

Vodafone NZ does not push it out Samsung does but I am sure we should see the update in the next 4 weeks

I used the version from XDA a while back and have had no issues. I used the 'No wipe' version.

To be honest haven't really noticed anything change so if you are thinking you are missing out you may not be unless waiting for something in particular.

I used to be a serial flasher back in the day but see no real point now as Samsung seem to tick most of boxes nowadays.

I used to as well. I am struggling the remember the last phone I hooked up ADB...

Shouldn't that be end of a year? ;-)
As stated earlier, there doesn't appear to be much different in the Oreo update for the S8 and mine is humming along quite nicely at the moment, particularly when it comes to battery life.

Dingbatt: As stated earlier, there doesn't appear to be much different in the Oreo update for the S8 and mine is humming along quite nicely at the moment, particularly when it comes to battery life.

Most of the changes are under the hood with Oreo. The update brings a massive increase in speed and smoothness to the S8 though. Definitely worth it for that alone.

Why are we getting CRAP?

Serious question :).

Samsung famously put out an update in February that caused random reboots and had to be pulled -- with a version name that ended in CRAP.

The pulled version was eventually replaced with another one that ended in CRB7, and that's the one that's been rolling out all over the world. But my S8 plus running Spark firmware is showing me the CRAP update.

Can anyone explain? Why do we seem to be getting the older update?
