MurrayM: Arrgghh, blimmin SD card is still playing up. It was working last night and now this morning there is a "SD card unexpectedly removed" notification. Time to go back to First Mobile and see what they say.

I believe that there is something not right with the way S4's are interacting with cards.

I think you might be right, I've seen a lot of messages about people having trouble with SD cards on their S4's.
Damager:networkn:MurrayM: Anyone having problems with an SD card in their S4?
My partner has had her S4 for only a few days and it was working fine, storing photos and video on the SD card. But today it came up with a message saying "SD Card Unexpectedly Removed" and now the phone doesn't seem to recognise that there's an SD card plugged into it.
We've tried removing and reinserting the card a couple of times but still the phone doesn't recognise it (under the Storage option in Settings it says "Mount SD Card" in a greyed out font). We turned the phone off each time we tried this.
If we plug the SD card into a PC then we can see all of the files on it.
The SD card wasn't formatted by the phone, the guy that sold us the phone just pulled a new SD card off the shelf, opened the packing and inserted the SD card and it worked fine until today. It was purchased from First Mobile in Albany.
Does it sound like a faulty card or faulty phone?
Heh I have JUST been through this with my 64GB Sandisk. I couldn't make it work and in the end Sandisk replaced it and under warranty. However I am seeing a few of these posts, and I am wondering if it's possible the S4 is killing them. I took mine right from my S3.
Still using my 64gb sandisk I got from you networkn and it's still going fine from the S3 and now the S4. When I got it, I used the provided adapter to add about 30gbs of music on the pc. I use the sd card for pics and videos also. No problems!.. Hope it stays that way!

Not fishing Jeff, it sounds like the the latest TW is awful (I havent even seen an S4 yet so no idea). As someone who flashes custom ROMS to get rid of the crap, it doesnt worry me, but might be a concern for others.

Soon as my phone arrived. Set it up and reactivated NEXT launcher which by the way if you have not had the privy of using it is by far the reason why you probably might never flash ROMS ever again. This piece of art of software is light years better than any rom can deliver imo. Touchwiz is no problem in the background as NEXT is uber butter smooth and the animations are mint and customizations are clever & extremely detailed. Thats my plug for the devs at Go luancher i guess. Pricey but worth it.
