TurM: So who here intends to purchase the N6 and/or the N9 through the Google Play Store? Which country's version of the Play Store will you be using? How do you intend to do it?

I suspect as in the past kiwis will be once again screwed and blocked from the Play store and have to pay the rip off pricing  via the local carriers as in the past..   Thought with the price nearly doubling from the N5 I suspect that there will not be  much advantage of buying via the Play store..

On the lollipop side of things, I notice the Play Store has gone all 'Material Design' on me. It seems like Google are moving their apps over early to get people used to the new look.

SamMobile tell us the S5 will get Lollipop in December 2014, I guess NZ will be circa December 2015.

jarj: The Nexus 9 is available to pre-order from Amazon, it ships to NZ :)

yep ... have pre-ordered ... (to replace a tired 1st gen Nexus 7) .. looking forward to it ... yay me! laughing

Have just read that Amazon have pushed out the release date to mid-December - what's the date for yours?

Still not fully decided on N9 or Z3 tablet. Prefer the Z3 for size and aspect ratio. Prefer the N9 for pure android 5. N9 slightly in front at moment.

Tough call, the inclusion of a card slot is hard to pass up for some (me included).

Thing about the N9 is the 64-bit K1, which really puts Qualcomm's current offerings to shame really. I'm eyeing the Nexus 9 purely for that SoC really...

No SD in the N9 is a disappointment as I would like to be able to hot swap my 64GB SD card between my phone and tablet. If I get the Nexus, I will opt for the 32GB. I'll keep music on my phone, so tablet storage will be primarily for video.

I was definitely thinking of placing a pre order for this.

I am hoping I could rope my friend in Boston into purchasing it for me then I just wire him the money, and he ships it direct to you shop.

Import tax is going to be a huge hit on the overall price. When I calculated it it said about $180nzd, raising the overall price to about $1000 nzd. His hurts my heart a little bit, but I feel like once I sell my iPad, iPod, and phone, it'll only be about $450.

At 1000 bucks I'd prefer a note 4 for 900 bucks. Buy local so you get a proper warranty, removable battery, SD card and slightly better camera.

yeah its a trade off i guess.

I've decided the price of the international edition S5 that is due to get a google edition Stock Rom in December - is too good to pass up so have decided to forgo the Nexus 6 / Note 4 and just spent $630 on the SM-900i S5 - if i can get ~$400 for my 32gig Nexus 5 it will be worth it for the better camera and battery - i hope.

You won't get $500 for a Nexus 5, you'll get $300
