The new InsertCoin 2.1 rom is based on the latest leaked rom 1.45.401.2 which apparently requires a new radio. Has anyone tested to see if the new radio works on the Z710a?

You will only need to flash a radio if you are moving up to the latest leak release which so far I think IC is the only ROM offering this.

Flashing the radio is very simple, its just the same as flashing a ROM via CWM. It is normally always done before you load the ROM.

ROMs on their own do not flash radios so you have no need to worry about it really.

I flashed the latest radio on the Z710e and its running perfectly with better battery life than previous versions, but sadly I cannot confirm for the Z710a at this point.

So using P3D i wont have to update the radio?

My Sensation is imported but its the 850mhz version

The P3D rom works on the Z710a and does not update the radio. ArtooDetoo is currently running the latest P3D v3.1

I'm still on V2 at the moment.

Im offically running P3D 3.1. will let you know my thoughts and if i have any issues.

To anyone considering putting a custom rom on for the first time, it sounds and seems really intense, but in reality its extremely easy.

Now to use up all my credit on voda and get this sensation onto XT

It is worth noting that LeeDROiD who is a very experienced developer and made some of the best ROMs for other HTC phones has just updated his version for the Sensation to 2.0

This includes the much needed base up date to 2.3.4

I am downloading now and will report back with how it all goes

Edit: Note this ROM also needs the updated radio, and is recommend you format your sdcard as EXT4. There is a nice clean zip file which will do this for you.

No not really.

There are a few better alternative ROMs though which keep the stock HTC Sense 3.0 look.

You can change the skin fairly easily but that won't change the notification bar icons etc

I believe its the internal memory. any known reason this could be happening. everything else for me is perfect this rom is quick!

The word "Skin" means so much more to me than just the basics which can easily be changed, their is the notification buttons, menu backgrounds, fonts etc.

Right now the fastest and cleanest I have gotten my phone is with the latest...

IncertCoin & No-Sense++1.6

These gets it down to its most basic form which you can then easily start to rebuild just the way you like it, even at a higher level with LuncherPro + Desktop Visualizer you can get a much nicer look/feel.
