ritzlal: Sigh. If only I knew these phones would be available in NZ so soon! Back when I got my first Nexus (HTC Nexus One), these phones were unheard of here so getting them from USA was the best option. I'm starting to realise that we actually have it pretty good here. Yes having the Google Play store access would be perfect but even then, it's not so bad. 2degrees have the phones at a decent price and there are heaps of options available through other means. I ordered my 32GB Nexus 5 from the USA Play Store minutes after release and I still haven't got it. It arrived in NZ on the 13th of this month but is still with customs. By the time I get it, it would have costed me about $650 anyway I think. Would have been easier to just buy one off Trademe.

Anyone else still waiting on customs? I'm wondering if I should give them a call now. Have been patient for too long. How can I get a customs number? I've only got a tracking reference. Thanks.

Still waiting here too, nothing in the mail today, I might call them this afternoon.. let me know how you get on. I called them the other day and got an entry number but they hadn't made an invoice yet

Did you call customs or NZ Post? I called 0800 4 CUSTOMS and was told they can't track it and I should call NZ Post. I asked the gentleman how NZ Post will be able to help as it says "Held for Clearance" and has been stuck there since the 13th of November but he said "we can't do anything, they'll be able to help you". Lol...is it NZ Post that's holding it for clearance?  Let's just say I won't be ordering anything over the $400NZD threshold in future.

Well looks like mine is going back to WSL, random reboots throughout the day and going to Settings/WiFi causes Settings to stop working. Have factory reset 4 times but no difference.
Now to see if it was worth paying more to get the local warranty :-(

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

Hmm, either something went wrong when the software was flashed or hardware

No flash, it's straight out of the box.

Any recommendations for a wireless charger?

The Nexus branded one looks stylish, but of course not available here yet.

Got my micro sim yesterday so up and running now. Still need to transfer my txt's, photos and music over from my iphone but am close.

A bit worried about battery life. Yesterday I took it off charge at 11am and by 10pm it was down to 4%. That was with pretty minimal use. I was however out of reception for about 3 hours so that may have exacerbated the battery drain. I have now turned off google now and disabled notifications from mail. Any other tips on battery saving options?

Edit: Does anyone know why my cell reception icon keeps switching from H (which I presume is HSPDA) and 3G? Is this normal? Every 10-30 seconds it seems to alternate between the two.

After a week my battery life is settling a little. Rebooted after 3 days of Google services killing the battery made a difference. Will be a test once I'm back in a 4g area.

H and 3g are different modes of 3g. Nothing to be concerned about. Usually goes to 3g when data is on standby.

I installed a Skinomi wet screen protector yesterday. Nerve racking but worth it, it's the best screen protector I've ever used on any phone.

Has any one had any issues with the power button becoming non responsive?

Mine will go to sleep and when I press the power button to wake it it nothing happens until I have pressed the power button several times at which point the phone will come onto the shutdown menu.

A hard reset may fix it but that would erase all the data, a hard reset on a iPhone would just reset the phone anything similar on Android?
