Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation has gone to its new
owner. Galaxy S3 has gone to its new owner. Now using Galaxy Note 3. Skipping Note 4 I think...

Very impressed with the new Cognition 1.07 ROM - around 22 hours off charge, 3g sync running all day for weather widget/facebook/gmail etc, a few txts, couple of Quadrant runs, and a market update - still have 80% left.

Does that do video on G Talk? Looks like it might.

Hmm haven't noticed that, but I am a heavy sleeper. Maybe put it on silent while you sleep, put the sound on in the morning? Otherwise you might have to root + find a particular app, perhaps.

It doesn't beep with the phone on silent, which I would have thought is desirable at the bedside...

If one turns the sound off then its alarm is not going to wake one up either....

It would be better to disable the full charge beep.

I use a free app from the market called "Silent Time Lite". You can then tell your phone to mute all sounds between set times. Works beautifully for me. An alternative method if you're prepared to root your phone is to rename the audio file used for this chime.

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz

I have a beautiful Tasker profile to handle my alarm, so no issue here.

(seriously, my Tasker alarm is awesome - volume fades in slowly, flip phone to snooze, pull power plug to dismiss, it then activates Screen Filter and opens NewsRoom for my morning paper delivery, love it)

If you have root access change the file extension of TW_Battery_caution.ogg to .bak. It's located in system/media/audio/ui. This is the sound that's waking you up, but will not remove the vibrate.

Alarms will over-ride "Silent" mode and still sound. I've got a tasker script that puts my phone into silent mode and disables data+Wifi at midnight, and my alarm still wakes me up in the morning. The Tasker script then turns data+wifi+audio back on again.

And yes, Cognition does supposedly support Google-Talk Video.

That is cheap, I wonder how "class 10" it really is. For $50 its worth finding out.

+1 on learning Tasker

Thanks SteveNZ, re GTalk and video.
