Does anyone remember the launch price of the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 in New Zealand?
I brought my N4 a few months before the N5 was released and it was on special at $499

While missing some features that others may be interested in, I am still tempted to get the 5X

Well if all that means there is only going to be one model of each phone for the world, then my original plan of dropping hints to my daughter who lives and works in the US, of getting me one for my birthday is still viable :-) That means I am immune to the currency exchange drop since I'm not paying and won't have to worry about network compatibility for the 5X since I'm on Skinny.

I guess I have to see if I can live without wireless charging. The 6P looks like a really nice phone.

I, like I suspect many people, assume that Band 28 is a fixed thing, you either support it or you don't.

Very interesting to learn that Band 28 support can come with little asterisk next to it.

No problem. Was new to me when the 830 launched.

It's a mushy explanation, the specifics get more complicated, I am not an engineer.

I don't think there is only 1 model of the 5x
There is a US model (with cdma chip for some of their telcos over there) and a "world" model for everywhere else

Apparently it will work on 2degrees since they support LTE Band 3 (1800), I had a chat with a lovely fellow called Scott on their chat page.

Correct, the 5X will work fine on 4G bands 3 & 7.

Note that the band 28 split means no-go for 2degrees on that band either. Spark holds 20MHz paired of band 28, Vodafone 15MHz, 2degrees 10MHz.

I have no reason to believe the information Google provided at the time has changed as they naturally pitched the global SKU rather than the US SKU for 5X.

From what NikT said:
The 6P fully supports Band28.
The 5X half supports (Not VFNZ's LTE700 allocation) Band 28.

Looking at that, if the N5X only support from 703-723 lower band of the spectrum, then it won't work on Band 28 for Vodafone which goes from 723-738.

Which is what NikT said.

What isn't clear to me is, what happens if the N5X is on Vodafone and in a Band 28 area. No LTE or partial coverage?

Why does it have to be so confusing haha!!

So how do you know if your normal cell sites run on band 3/7 or 28?? I'm on 2degrees btw.
