I've asked through their web portal, no answer yet. I was reluctant to call them as it's a fairly technical query and doubt I'd get a satisfactory answer from a call centre...

+1

I'd like to know as well for when I get my SGS2, also for my SGS.

mrgsm021:

What shipping method did you use when you got hit with customs duties/GST?

I was lucky not to have been charged GST when I ordered my SGS from ebay, hopefully will be as lucky this time round.

I had my phone sent by UPS.  There's someone else here who had theirs sent by Royal Mail.  They weren't charged any GST.

I ordered two microSD cards from them, didn't receive any confirmation that my order had been received at all so I emailed them. They said they would send the cards in 10-14 days from the date of order. It's 14 days on Friday, I'll be intrigued to see if they contact me during Friday or the weekend to confirm shipping :D

At least you got a reply to your email. My 14 days elapses tomorrow and I'll ask the bank for a charge back if no news by Monday.

Be warned Grab-a-deal may be suspect.

I've been playing with a custom kernel for the last 24 hours or so. The author of this kernel (renandroid, aka python08 on XDA) has played around with the CPU governor, and has a hack in place that appears to fix the Android OS issue. The process has used less than 2 minutes CPU since the last reboot this morning, down from 40+ minutes on other kernels.

I only reset my battery usage stats this morning, and the phone hasn't had a full charge cycle yet, so I don't know if battery life is any better or not. I'll try to remember to post back in a few days with my results.

If anyone else is interested in testing the kernel, it's available via XDA. The ZIP file you download contains a TAR file that can be flashed in Odin/Heimdall, or you can extract the zImage from it and flash that via CWM.

I'm thoroughly sick of my nice (expensive) Sena pouch.  I wanted to like it. I did all the massaging stuff to soften the leather and break it in.  But it's still too tight and it ends up pressing in on the volume rocker.  The phone continues to chirp in my bag as it gets jolted around (thanks to the smooth road surfaces in Chch), and then I forget and nearly jump out of my skin when the phone rings due to the volume being set at maximum.

The trouble is I can't seem to find an alternative.  I'm also after an arm band so I can listen to music while on the wind trainer, again I can't find one.  Perhaps too early to be looking for such things.

Has anyone else got any suggestions?

Wow, that seems like a really whiny post.

The ebay seller I got my Pleomax case from seems to have a few range of SGS2 cases, might be worth a look, scroll down further on the listing.

well someone can shoot me, i made a huge mistake buying the htc sensation.  Ifound the video too dark on the new samsung s2 so also bouhgt the sensation.  well on the sensation the video is a lot darker than on the desire hd.  I fully charged both phones then played 2 hour and half movies on each. same movies. when finished the samsung had 53% battery life left, the sensation was in the yellow.  ebook reading is also much nicer on the galaxy, sound is much louder and clearer on the galaxy also.  The only disadvantage I personally have with galaxy is the video colours.  Someone mentioned voodoo colour fix for galaxy s1 so i googled and found the one responsible for voodoo colour fix is working on one for the s2.  I would now recommend the galaxy s2 over the sensation. I canput up now with the colour  as the advantages outway the one disadvantage for me

I had a good hunt for armband cases a while back and had decided on this: http://www.amazon.com/Tune-Belt-Incredible-smartphones-protective/dp/B003ZJGZ8O/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1309950687&sr=1-7

I didn't get one in the end, but do recall that of the few options in that size range it did seem the best and most well reviewed.

I can't understand how you find the SGSII video dark. Could it be that black being truly black, due to the absence of an LCD backlight on a Super AMOLED+ display gives that impression? Although far from accurate colour, I find the display absolutely stunning and far preferable to iphone 3GS or 4. I consider myself a videophile also.

Did you email the actually seller, StreetBitz to register your delivery address as per the voucher?

I did and asked for confirmation for the 32G MicroSD card and a 64GB flash drive I bought separately, and they acknowledged the flash drive only. I emailed again and received an acknowledgment  eventually for the MicroSD with the standard "We will supply in the time listed on your voucher, and email you before dispatch".

Haven't heard anything yet, so hopefully not far away.
