as long as you're sideloading the official OTA you should have no problems.

Been using the new Nexus 5 32GB from AU Google Play.

Overall, very nice phone. Very snappy and quicker than S3 4G version. The battery life was what I was worried about the most. I am hitting 2 days without charge over the weekend. About 3.5 hours of screen on time. There was still 15% left...

I am quite happy with the battery life so far.

Downside is that my partner's one has a little noisy vibrating motor compared to mine. The buttons have less play in hers though. Mine can make little rattle noise on volume rocker but doesn't bother me much.

I have purchased a few extra cases - and partner preferred a white Spigen case - so gold champagn Neo Hybrid cover is for sale. (See sales section)

There are some functions that I do miss from the S3 - like: vibration mode easily with pull down menu, smart stay, and ringing vibration intensity can be changed very easily from their version of OS.

By the way, my partner's old iPhone4 era microSIM from Vodafone was throwing funny simcard notification icon - so went into Vodafone and got a new version (different STK 128kb) and seems to have resolved that issue.

peejayw: Anyone seeing 4.4.1 OTA yet ?

Getting tired of hitting the check for update button. If I don't get it by tomorrow I'll probably sideload.

There is no point in hitting the check for update button. I read somewhere recently how the updates roll out. First they issue the update to a small number (about 1% of devices) just to check the error rates after installation. After 1-2 days, they start the general roll out in tranches of about 25% over the next couple of weeks. Once the tranche is released and your device checks-in, it has a 25% chance of being selected for the update (this step is random and not affected by location, or by how quick you are). If your phone isn't selected then that is it for the duration of that tranche. No amount of "checking" will change anything until the next 25% is released.

If the "Google Services Framework" trick is used, clearing the data deletes the primary ID by which Google knows your device. As far as the servers are concerned, your device has been factory reset - so you get another go at the lottery. Unfortunately, one of the side-effects is that this invalidates the tokens for any app that uses GCM (nearly all Google apps, as well as lots of third party apps). So some of these apps may stop working properly. Sometimes the Google account needs to be removed from the device and recreated to get apps such as the Play Store to function again. Suffice to say that it's not a good idea. For those who just can't wait, sideloading is Google's recommended option.

Okay I have a 3 month old Telecom pre-pay micro sim.
Is that enough for 4G?
Sorry it's a bit off topic

For Telecom you need one of their new 4G SIMs to use 4G

I've also just got mine. Taken a couple of quick pics and camera seems faster, though this is purely a subjective observation. I don't see any focus issues but on a sample size of 3 that doesn't tell us anything.
