Spong: Did you email the actually seller, StreetBitz to register your delivery address as per the voucher?

I did and asked for confirmation for the 32G MicroSD card and a 64GB flash drive I bought separately, and they acknowledged the flash drive only. I emailed again and received an acknowledgment eventually for the MicroSD with the standard "We will supply in the time listed on your voucher, and email you before dispatch".

Haven't heard anything yet, so hopefully not far away.

I got exactly the same response from StreetBitz that you did Spong. I'm going to wait the 14 business days (max), next Thursday I think, before I ask them again.

I purchased a small phone pouch type case from Kathmando, Can't post a link but just go to the Kathmando website and search for a digi drawstring pouch. Comes in a few colours but I liked the black. Been using for a week now, and would highly reccomend. I have the official perforated samsung rear cover on my phone and it fits perfectly in the pouch. Also, its on special at the moment so is only $9.99. Polar fleece inner so nice and gentle on the screen. I figured I wont care about the phone in a few months so I didn't want to spend too much on a pouch.

nzgeek: I've been playing with a custom kernel for the last 24 hours or so...

After using that kernel for a little while, I've switch back to CF-Root. Battery usage on the other kernel was terrible, even though it had a CPU governor fix. I'm guessing there was another bug somewhere that was eating battery without attributing it to a process.

Now I'm back to waiting for a 2.3.4 firmware...

Just fired up Kies today and there's new firmware available since yesterday for my Clove sourced SGSII (XEU)

My current firmware is: PDA:KE7/PHONE:KE4/CSC:KD1

New version is: PDA:KF3/PHONE:KE7/CSC:KD1

I wonder if it's just bug fixes or the new 2.3.4? I think I'll wait and let someone else try this first.

KF3 is still 2.3.3. There's not a great deal of difference, I believe the browser has been improved. KF3 has been out for about 3 weeks in Europe.

KF4 is out in Asia, still 2.3.3 though.

I understand someone here ordered through unlocked-mobiles.com from UK using Royal Mail, in your experience, how many days did it take to arrive?

I've been tracking the parcel on the Royal mail website and it keeps telling me that the parcel had been passed to overseas postal service to be delivered to NZ. I rang royal mail they said the parcel left UK on 02/07, it's 7/7 today and I still haven't received it, should I be concerned or is it quite normal?

Gilco2: well someone can shoot me, i made a huge mistake buying the htc sensation. Ifound the video too dark on the new samsung s2 so also bouhgt the sensation. well on the sensation the video is a lot darker than on the desire hd. I fully charged both phones then played 2 hour and half movies on each. same movies. when finished the samsung had 53% battery life left, the sensation was in the yellow. ebook reading is also much nicer on the galaxy, sound is much louder and clearer on the galaxy also. The only disadvantage I personally have with galaxy is the video colours. Someone mentioned voodoo colour fix for galaxy s1 so i googled and found the one responsible for voodoo colour fix is working on one for the s2. I would now recommend the galaxy s2 over the sensation. I canput up now with the colour as the advantages outway the one disadvantage for me

I can't understand how you find the SGSII video dark. Could it be that black being truly black, due to the absence of an LCD backlight on a Super AMOLED+ display gives that impression? Although far from accurate colour, I find the display absolutely stunning and far preferable to iphone 3GS or 4. I consider myself a videophile also.

Those were my thoughts also on Gilco2 experiences.

you could be right I guess. But I hope I get used to it. I find sound much better on galaxy. I was real htc fan but my experience with the sensation has soured me on it. I am finding I am loving the galaxy more all the time as I use it as a media player away from home. I love the battery life, almost doublt the htc.

I would back them up with Titanium, if for no other reason then because it will preserve your save game data.

BTW guys, while on the topic of Gameloft games - I see today that Starfront Collision and Dungeon Hunter 2 HD are now available for the SGSII (and both are included in the 2 for 1 deal at their wap shop, just point browser to gameloft.com). Starfront Collision looks sweet! Should be a really nice one to play with bluetooth mouse...

Hi lillow,

I ordered my SGS2 from unlocked-mobile.com from UK, also using Royal Mail, how long did your order take to arrive?

According to Royal Mail, they received my package on 01/07 and it left UK on 02/07 and it's now 08/07 and still haven't seen it, even tried tracking via NZ post website with the royal mail tracking# but no luck, no record of it arriving in NZ.

You shouldn't need to do a factory reset when installing Lite'ning ROM. I didn't when installing v1.4, and v1.5 shouldn't be much different. I just installed, and all of my various apps/settings were still in place.

The most important things to wipe after a ROM flash are the cache and Dalvik cache. These contain device-optimized versions of the various downloaded and system apps, and having outdated versions of these files can cause issues. When you wipe these caches, the apps are re-optmized. This is why the first boot after a firmware update can take a while.

Let's hope it's true, so we can all get a bit more battery life out of our phones!
