jaffanz: as for the phone, well its an absolute absolute joy to use. could do with a few improvements around blinkfeed content, and facebook 'no sync with contacts' bug still loads the gallery with facebook pics from your friends. those will still get fixed eventually and there are always roms to load..

.. better get to the phone. think it needs some customising lol.

As mentioned above the Gallery sucks in photos from everywhere and especially Facebook - lots of facebook pics from all your friends.

No fix for this in the settings. No fix that I can find.

Did a quick search some forums posters suggested a free app called QuickPic prob hundreds of other apps that do the same.

Just set to only include the camera folder.

Yes this is one major cripe that hopefully gets fixed by HTC in the next update.

Greaver: Spoke to Noel Leemings at 5:15pm - seems they have had a lot of calls today and according to the lady I spoke to the last update they got was after 3 and it was, still no date set

Deanzo is spot on issues come up, stock gets withheld and unforeseen things happen, but calculating a date isn't hard at all and should they happen to arrive sooner than what they guestimate then thats awesome

I just want a bloody date for my $1600 purchase made two months ago

I felt the same.

Look, it's less about the delay and more about the lack of information. Why is it delayed? How long will it be delayed? Will we get a discount if it's after that date?

It's gone from 7th, to 9th, to "no one knows". Does not inspire confidence.

So, I went into Noel Leemings again today, and asked about the Vodafone unit. She rang up the supplier, and they had "heaps", and it should be here in a couple of days.

They gave me a discount on it to. I'm paying $999, which made it $100 dearer than the XT one. But I have some compensations LTE enabled out of the box; 2 year warranty; an actually, shipping and seen in the wild phone........

I also have the option of going back to the XT one if it should appear a few days of the vodafone... Decent of them.

I guess the moral of the story is "Get your Siht Togeather".

Interestingly, I was told that Brightstar does the XT AND the Vodafone versions???

So I have an S4. I was pretty impressed with it, despite what a lot of people said about incremental upgrades, I felt it was a decent upgrade and was happy to spend $1149 on release day to get one.

Today I went out and bought the HTC One from JBHifi.

My first impression of the hardware was that I was pretty impressed. It's probably the nicest LOOKING phone, though honestly I find the curved edges of the S4 nicer in the hand, and the weight, whilst not significant is noticeable.

What blew me away was the UI and user experience. The setup involved getting a code on screen and then logging into htc's pairing site and configuring the device, and then it downloading everything.

The screen is just fantastic, the text sharp and very readable, and there isn't a single bit of lag in the 1 hour I have used it. Everything in the setup works flawlessly. I am exceptionally impressed. They have polished this thing like a Diamond.

I'll give some feedback again in a few days, but I can say that in the last 14 years I have owned well over 50 high end phones, of all sorts of brands, I have had a fair number of the flagships, and I can only recall being blown away like this once or twice.

Shows as 'Sold Out'.
Warehouse Stationery also has it on its site, but likewise, shows 'nil stock'. I note expert infotech has them in stock now as well, but at the same price as VFNZ why would I buy a parallel import?
Not planning on a change for a month yet, so delay is of little consequence to me...
