Yeah, I still got 13.5mbps down and 2.0mbps up, which is faster than 3g in most places, but still nowhere near the speeds advertised. That being said on HSPA I got 18 down and 4 up this morning. Best I could get on our work WiFi was 22 down and 19 up, which I was quite impressed by.

Im wondering where in Auckland is the best place to get coverage? My guess would be at the top of Mt Eden or something.

Just walked up the road to Wendys Gt Sth Rd and can confirm that I got some 4g service, albeit only one bar, which made for a pretty poor Speedtest result

Cool to have it connected to 4G though! Lucky you, while most of us continue to wait.

Yeah I was pretty excited and relieved when it the little 4g came up!

It is not due for release on Telecom due to unforeseen errors with the telecom network

Don't tell me it has the wrong radio? Surely that would have affected Brad etc when testing them

Rather than blocking the 4G they may have blocked the 3G? Haha.

Hmm that's interesting. But also possible it is somebody is making stuff up t cover for the fact they have no idea.

I haven't had any issues at all with mine for calls, data, sms etc. No word from freitasm and Technofreak about having issues.

Small hiccup at lunchtime today with mobile data not working for about 10 minutes but my GNex was also suffering so it couldn't have been a One issue.

Brad, how are you finding battery life? I havent been using mine that heavily, but it is already down to 21% after 6 hours and 30 minutes. I havent been using power saver mode, and my usage stats show that messages, Sense, Mail, Chrome, & Speedtest have used 30%, 17%, 9%, 8%, & 6% respectively. WiFi and Data have been on the whole time and the screen has been on for nearly half of that at maximum brightness.

I have been averaging 24-30 hours and 4-6 hours screen time. The lower figures when using mobile data for periods during the day.

Given the size of the screen I think the numbers are fairly impressive.

I found the first couple of charges of the battery drained fairly quickly.

Thanks, hoping it will improve. I installed an app called Battery Doctor and put it in to the Super Saver mode, apparently it thinks I will get 1.5hrs out of my 15% remaining.

I am thinking about running it in power saver mode all the time. There doesn't seem to be any noticeable performance loss from it.

There is a custom kernel that allows you to wake the phone by swiping the HTC logo.

Really? That sounds awesome, forgive my ignorance, but what does a custom Kernel require?

Yes I am thinking the same re: power saver mode, the only thing that bugs me is screen brightness, I love to have it cranked all the way

It's on the top of the device and it's flat to the bezel, and it's the only way without modifying it to turn the screen back on.
