ritzlal:
Is local stock the A6000 or A6003 model? And is there any difference for us here in New Zealand in terms of bands? Thanks.
ganand: I also happen to have a A6003 from Parallel Imported. As far as I know..India and China have A6000 versions with slight difference in the LTE bands and Hydrogen OS. A6003 is the global version with Oxygen OS
The model sold in the US and EU have 3 additional LTE bands - 30(2300), 32(1500), 71(600), this is one of the reasons why I ordered mine directly from the US. :)
Also, for those wanting to buy an additional charger/cable - you can just buy the NZ VOOC charger locally and get the USB-C cable from AliExpress (or you could buy both the charger+cable). Last year I purchased 3 cables for ~$20 for my OP3 and they're still in good shape.

Just been in to NL in Queen st, they seem to be selling the A6000 model for the 128gb. I'm not keen on the hydrogen os model and it seems from other forums that they have other chinese apps pre loaded. Anyone else purchased from NL yet to confirm if this is the case? PS they come with a samsung charger not a VOOC one from NL.

Thanks for the info. Seems to be difficult to get clear answers around this especially with a lot of online sellers listing A6000 models as "International" or "Global version". They have flashed Oxygen OS on them so not sure if there would be any real difference for us here in NZ. The price difference can be substantial though as prices online seem to start from about $780NZD for the 64GB/6GB RAM version.

And all cables still provide for dash charging speeds? If so, would it be possible to dig the link out to the specific cables you purchased? Thanks if so!
Many of those that claim them as dash cables on Amazon etc also have feedback from some people saying the cables only charge at a normal speed (while others say they work fine), so it seems a bit of a lottery.
I also haven’t come across a dash/vooc charger with AU plugs cheaper than the $21 from NLs on any OS site.
Here's the link to the one I ordered (also if you use the AliExpress mobile app you get an even further discount!)

Thanks for this, i got burnt buying a Wish "Dash" cable which doesn't dash charge
For those interested I bought the Oppo car dash charger from JB Hifi and it is awesome, depending on the amount of time you spend in your car you could just about charge while commuting and do away with needing to charge at home. It genuinely charges at same rate as official 1+ AC dash charger

Is this the charger that does Dash Charging when paired with a "dash charging" USB cable? https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/shop/phones-and-gps/accessories/mobile-phone-cases/android-cases/oppo-ak775-vooc-mini-adaptor/prod157964.html
If so, how are people getting it for $21? Currently $39.99 at Noel Leeming. Thanks.

Yep, that's the one. As my post explained the discounted price is what I'll pay showing my work ID; discounts of this amount aren't unusual when it comes to such accessories (cables, cases, memory cards etc are usually highly discounted). I imagine any similar arrangement with NL's will offer similar if not identical discounts (eg, through workplaces, unions etc; also those "cost plus x" sales). It's a damn shame they don't sell the dash/vooc cable with USB-C so a genuine cable can be got at a decent price.
jonathan18: Nope, I recall the NL listing clearly indicates only std NZ charger included, hence my comments a few posts back re VOOC charger. Someone in my local store thought the dash cable is retained, though, so not too much cost to regain dash charging (as mentioned, my work discount brings the COOC charger down nearly half price to $21; I imagine other similar arrangements will result in similar discount).

It's bloody irritating that they remove the OEM Dash charger - they're 100/240v switchable, so for the cost of a $5 plug adapter, you could have native charging (hence why I got mine directly from Hong Kong).
Also, chipping in on the A6000 vs A6003 differences, I'd be very careful about going for the former - happy to be proven wrong, but if Play Services aren't on that firmware there's probably no way to get them on there. This was certainly the case with the Galaxy S6 Edge variants from China.
I originally used an adapter but then got brave and gave the pins each a bit of a tweak with pliers to fit NZ sockets
Ha ha, nice! Not really an option with HK plugs though (same as UK).
