Right, so instead of Samsung trying to find what happened, how it happened and work with the telcos to solve the problem (which in theory could be affecting other customers) they simply said "Nah, let's do nothing"

I don't think it inspires confidence in their products.

I made the mistake of sticking with Samsung by pre-ordering the Galaxy S21+, I just couldn't say no to the PB Tech Sony wireless headphone bundle.  So far the issue hasn't occurred  on my new phone but it will likely be my last Samsung phone due to the poor support/experience.

Just to make sure, people with this problem have swapped SIM cards for a new one?

That's incredibly disappointing.

I never experienced this issue myself (I ran both Voda and 2D in the same S20+) and I cannot test this now as I no longer have the device.

Think after reading this thread if I had to run dual sim or even esim and a physical sim(my guess that either scenario is affected) I would choose a different device to do it on. Already had a reason to never purchase a Samsung device again after the Exynos 990 vs SD 865 and I think this has given me another reason not to.

Such a shame because Samsung in the long run as done very well in terms of support and handset availability here but seems they dropped the ball hard.

I certainly did, with no effect.

Another thing I've notice with my Samsung S20 Ultra 5G is that in about 1 out 5 calls sometimes half way through the call the other party cannot hear me. It seems that this is a phone with still quite a few problems.

I have received a reply from Samsung:

"[This] was identified as issue with Spark. The fix was to turn off VoLTE from their network settings and that should resolve. They have confirmed that this is not a device fault."

In other words, seems to be a network configuration - @andyb could check perhaps?

Hi all - will make some queries and come back.

If anyone is having persistent issues and can DM me their number I will also take a look at that and what’s going wrong here.

thanks.

"Store" is certainly not a tech support place...
