A Sense 5.1 ROM (4.2.2) has been leaked. Here's hoping we'll see it released to us soon. You know... after Telecom figure out where they put all their One's.

I have made a couple of folders on my home page by long tap on one app and sliding it over another like-minded app until the folder appears.

Now I am trying to make more folders but whenever I slide one app over another, the second app scoots away from the one I'm trying to move and no folder will appear. I end up chasing the second app all round the screen with the first app. Obviously doing something wrong but it's got me beat.

Have tried googling for an answer and got nowhere. Can someone please put me out of my misery on this?

Thanks

If experience of my TNZ One X last year is anything to go by, that update will be the official HTC release of 4.2.2 in Europe + 100 days. However subsequent updates did reduce that delay a little.

Urgh this is a problem that has plagued Android launchers since forever.

Have your 2 shortcuts side by side on the home panel and then try it. Trying to drop from the app drawer on top of another to make a folder is difficult.

Also dragging down across a top corner usually has more success for me. The icon auto rearrange is just a little too sensitive.

Thanks Brad. Have got it to work but it is very sensitive - needed very slow, incremental movements and even then, many attempts. Sorted though so ta.

heavenlywild: Greaver,

Have you hassled NL today?

Just spoke to Noel Leemings support

It is not due for release on Telecom due to unforeseen errors with the telecom network

Don't tell me it has the wrong radio? Surely that would have affected Brad etc when testing them

I am using it in WCDMA mode only on Telecom XT and it just works fine...

Went into Noel Leemings after work and threw my toys around

Didn't have much luck until the manager came over and people started watching the debate.

Why so mad? Their only suggestion is refunding my money, while I am asking about keeping my business with them and getting Vodafone.

Wasn't asking for the exact same price too as I know that isn't possible.

End result was the offer of $199 each off Vodafone phones, so I would get the phones for $900 instead of $800

Considering my options tonight before I go in after work tomorrow.

To put this in perspective for those saying its only a wait, $1600 is a lot of money, money that could be elsewhere right now, I was told by Noels they were coming in early-mid April when I slapped money on the counter.

And the main factor is my partner needed a new phone, in other words we went fcuk it we can go a month or so sharing our one working phone we can last that surely.

Its now two months since then - a very long time for my partner to go without a phone.

As for Telecom, unless I hear a date tomorrow I will be taking my business to Vodafone without a second thought. Two customers isn't a huge hit in the long run, but I sure as hell will tell a bunch of people about this and it will be Telecom I am aiming at, a date is all I wanted so I know whether to wait or not.

Havent had any freezing since.

Overall, I love the look and feel of this phone. Its night and day compared to my smashed iPhone with bits of glass falling out of it everywhere and a not functioning home button.

Having not used Android much in the past Im still coming to grips with it. So I figure Ill put a couple of questions to the experts:
Is there any way to show a percentage of the battery remaining in the top bar next to the indicator?
Is there any way to add things like brightness adjustment and a wifi toggle to the notification pull down?
I understand there is a way to set a thing called "Scroll Wallpaper", where do I find this setting?
Also on wallpapers, any one know how to use the full image as a wallpaper, rather than a crop?
Lastly, does anyone know why my phone wont find 4G? I put the option on my plan in store last night and all the settings on my phone suggest it should work. I am also in a coverage area according to the VF coverage map.

Kia ora.
Thought i'd throw you an answer or two mate.
yea don't load up the transfer then wonder why it spits at ya =)
its like any of the mobile OS choices really its in the Apps ;)
For a good battery widget in the top line of ya phone and elsewhere install "Battery Widget Reborn"
Notification pull down modifications require either a new Launcher which you install like an app but will overlay/replace Sense 5 (what you see in styling with the phone), or root and load a new rom with your type of function.
Crop wallpaper i'm pretty sure. unless there is an app for that lol. sorry not sure about that one.
Grab your Vodafone rep and while holding them steady Ask them to explain why no 4G!  lol

iPhone to Android is a jump, had 3 early iPhone models before my first Android, so I can understand. Don't forget to embrace that you can have tonnes more information arrive at you, in volumes greater than one, and thats cool.

Welcome aboard.

Dingbatt:

So this $45 plan you speak of. Is it the one on the VF website which gives a $100 discount on a One when you sign up to a $45/month plan for 2 years ? Less a JB discount of $50 to make the price $949. The way your post reads it sounds like you only have to sign up for $45/month deal for one month. (or is that the point)

Yep thats the point - its the same plan that you see, but only a one month obligation.

The guy assured me there's no tie in after the first month - and spoke to a Vodafone rep to confirm as he had to check I'd be eligible for the discount since my current plan doesn't expire till the 20th of this month.

Any idea if I can request that in a Vodafone reseller?

I could be confused, but that would mean I can get $100 off if I sign up for that plan with a one month obligation?

If that would work with the Noels discount I already have I would be in there tomorrow signing away

Greaver:Its now two months since then - a very long time for my partner to go without a phone.

To be fair it's only been 6 weeks since Easter Weekend when the sale was on. They said mid April to which I said others to take it witha grain of salt. Now it's almost mid of May.

Telecom are really handling this situation quite badly. They need to communicate with their customers otherwise people will leave them. I sure hope it comes out soon.

Very interesting. May be worth a parlay with my favourite salesman at JBs....

A "one month only" plan? That's too good to be true. I am willing to say you should get this in writing, otherwise it won't stick when you decide to cancel the plan in a couple of months.
