Nice. Telecom should be bringing an update fairly soon to fix the security flaws though so might pay to wait for that. Maybe I can convince my Fiancee to let me hack her Sensation :D

Phone is telling me there's a system update available, for the "Make more space application". It's 408KB, so pretty small.

But it's telling me I can't install it as apparently my Temporary space is full. My SD card has over 5GB free and the internal storage has over 800MB free. I have moved as many downloaded apps as possible to the SD card from the phone.

Stupid phone! I have done the turn off, take battery out, back in and turn on trick but to no avail. Rather ironic that my phone thinks there's not enough room to install an app that helps you make more space.

Pretty annoying!

Over in Oz (Perth) we finally got the 2.3.4 update (using a Telstra Sensation), was able to get the HTC bootloader unlocked (offical) then flashed CWM and then got permanint root access via su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed there after. was able to then get rid of Telstra crap apps.

After using the New HTC bootloader unlocker I have the following in bootloader

*** UNLOCKED ***
PYRAMID PUT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.18.0000
RADIO-10.14.9035.01_M
Emmc-BOOT
Aug 2 2011,22:35:52

I have found since the update I'm going through battery loads faster on 3G, where as just on Wi-Fi is way better. However the screen res looks SO much bettery very crisp and sharp.

Hey all,

It has been a while since I flashed anything to my phone as I have been happily using CdTDroids S3N5EaY 1.80 on my phone (it seems funny calling it a phone as I hardly use it as one). I am over Sense (I still like Sense but do not use the features as much) now and am thinking of flashing a no-sense ROM for poops and giggles. Does anyone have any recommendations as to a ROM I should try? I was thinking about flashing CM 7.1 SelfKANG or waiting for 7.2. Is anyone here using this or any other no-Sense ROMs. The thing I like about CdTDroid is he always has good installation instructions compared to a lot of the other ROM chefs.

Just use CdTDroid's Pyramid3D ROM Run the script to remove the Sense stuff and you've got a great phone.

It might do, I haven't looked. I remember he had a no-sense version a while back which I tried but back then I was infatuated with Sense. This will probably be the way I will go as I really like CdT's ROMs and him being a fellow kiwi makes it even more awesome. I might try some other ROMs just the same but will probably come back to CdT like I always do. Trying other ROMs makes me appreciate his work even more. :)

Hi all
I have my Sensation synching with two email accounts (xtra.co.nz and gmail.com) every few hours, and it has been working fine for a month or so, but mid yesterday morning, I started getting the following message every time I try to synch the xtra account:

Security warning
There are problems with the security certificate for this site.
This certificate is not from a trusted authority.
[Continue] [View] [Cancel]

If I view the certificate details, it says it was issued to VeriSign Inc, from VeriSign Inc, and valid from 08/11/2006 to 08/11/2021.

This message does not appear when synching only the gmail account. Any ideas?

Argh!

So I went to the Willis St Telecom store, and the guy at the "help desk" fiddled around with a few things, buit admitted defeat and gave me some 0800 numbers to call. I can;t call them yet though as I don't have a landline phone at work, and don't want to call on the Sensation and have to be flipping around menu options at the same time.

But the guy in the Telecom store has made things worse. Maybe? Now I'm getting:
Alert.
Login failed.

I've checked xtra account settings and the email address and password is correct.

Can anyone provide the full, correct settings for xtra email on the Sensation?

EDIT: The username should be the email address without the "@xtra.co.nz" right? In my account settings the username is showing as the full email address - the guy at Telecom may have changed it. I can't change it back though, because when I do I then go back to the original invalid certificate message...

You could consider backing up your files, syncing your Gmail contacts and resetting your phone.
