networkn: No, I would say you could count the number of Blue in the country on two hands.

Agreed - I'd say early indications of blue availability (i.e. a week or two ago) were based entirely on expected stock, not actual.

It really is history repeating itself - I remember hunting high and low for an I9000 when it came out, and being told by 3 Vodafone stores that there were none in the country. . . .ended up getting one the next day from a Noel Leeming store in Frankton of all places.

There will be stock, but it will be spread super thin I'd say.

Dingbatt:

So if you are on 2D wouldn't you just get the microsim early and either not break it out or put it in a full size holder

That's my plan so no waiting when I get my hands on the handset :)

So if you are on 2D wouldn't you just get the microsim early and either not break it out or put it in a full size holder (I got one supplied with my telecom sim).  I must say I am leaning towards 2D rather than VF, their plans just seem to suit better. So will compare performance with Telecom. Be interesting to see how the SIII performs on the different networks.

Edit: fixed typo.

Yeah I got my 2D early, I was trying to write above that the 2Degrees sims have adapters build onto them, but I think I didn't write it out properly

I'll try take a photo of the micro/normal SIM tonight when I get home, to show you guys what I mean

It basically looks like a normal sim, with cuts in it, so you can break the micro-sim out of it, when you get the new phone.  Really smart move by 2Degrees tbh

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

NZtechfreak: Man the launch is becoming a bit of a debacle, certainly the possibility that I might have trouble getting one in my hands at release is setting my teeth on edge.

Don't you think Samsung are taking the whole 'copying Apple' thing a bit far by trying to replicate a launch day debacle Laughing.

2degrees White Galaxy SIII arrived in the country around midday and it may be delivered to supplier tonight or tomorrow morning if everything all good.

31st launch still possible and the worst probably Friday 1st, The only possible delay I could think off is NZ custom.

Retail allocation very tight on white. WHS sold out their allocation already, so if you pre-order today you likely not getting the phone on first allocation.

Right so I've just been at my local 2degrees shop and this is what the manager told me:

- launch on Friday
- each shop is getting 20 units (white only)
- he's 99% sure it will be free on a 24-month $89 plan

I'm a biy like networkn, age has made me better able to see that the sun will still shine tomorrow (well depending on clouds) and that a few days won't make a bit of differance.

Its still entertaining to watch the rest whip themselves into a frenzy over it though

Yea noel leeming told me the same thing...perhaps they don't know what they're talking about. Does this include the blue ones?

Only a suggestion, but it's only 2 days to go now, it's probably better to just wait and see, since you can't change the outcome at this point anyway :)

But when I asked them about the delay they had no idea and said they were still expecting all their stock on time, including the blues.....
