Geektastic:

Are the NZ models from independent retailers free of network splash screens? I had a Sony from NL that had a Spark splash screen that always annoyed the heck out of me.

Yes, free of any carrier logo..at least the one I got from Spark is. Loads up with 2 Huawei logos, then the login screen. I had Sony previously too and the Spark logo that loaded up was annoying every time.

Highly, The camera gets comments from all the people that see it and have iPhone 8's X's and S9's. The build quality is nice and the charging is very quick without the heat of the Qualcomm QC's

I agree. Stellar battery life and stellar camera. People that see the photos are amazed.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Highly recommend. The camera is the main reason I bought it but the phone as a whole is damn impressive. The only things I think could be improved are the ability to use a micro-sd card and a headphone jack but these are minor quibbles.

while I also like to have a micro-SD card slot and a few other small improvements (not too fuss about the lack of headphone jack as I either use the supplied headphone or my bluetooth headphone anyway), I also highly recommend it.

Camera is unparalleled in my opinion, battery life is amazing and the phone is super responsive and there has been a few firmware updates already.

oh yes with the latest firmware,  Huawei has also fixed some bugs in camera app and the camera now finally happy to increase ISO all the way up to ISO 102400 when shooting in dark places.

I can't remember if i have posted it here before but here is my little review of the phone.

I notice with the recent update that there has been an added feature to the slo mo camera. It now displays a box that detects motion in it and starts the slow mo recording. Had a play and seems better than the rather hit or miss of clicking on the record button.

OK so this one, the LG7 and the Note 9 are now on the shortlist.

This and the LG have aptx-HD, the P20 has better battery life and camera, the LG is dual sim. The Note has good battery, good screen, good storage.

Note and LG are available with good bundles at PB Tech, the P20 Pro seems not to be now.

Analysis paralysis...!yell

PB Tech spec says not? Perhaps @NikT might clarify if around.
