ahh my mistake, I've never flashed stock rom so read up on it in xda as its no differance except you use odin and flash whole thing, rooting is as easy as you have already done.

You will need to check if the 4.3 has knox bootloader, I know it matters little but don't see any advantages with flashing stock rom when you can do custom 4.3 or kitkat aosp but your call, given you have custom recovery its a simple task to do custom

I need 99% reliability or whatever stock can provide. Custom roms always have issues or freezes in my experience

thats not my experience, custom roms take out the glitches by the devs its usually hgow and what we use that causes issues but everyone's experience is differant. Current rom I'm on hasn't missed a beat and the 4.3 ones I was using were great as well although had some lag with one I was too lazy to find so flashed another. Omega is highly modified and customisable so can get cluttered up, I have usually gravitated to Wanams roms as he takes a lot of the rubbish out but says pretty close to stock and goes for speed and reliability but has a I9500 so his I9505 roms are few and far between. Echoe is very good, actually most of the well known ones are so just try and discard as required.

well I'm telecom and all of them I have tried work fine, go with Omega latest 4.3 it has old bootloader in it and virtually the same as what you have .

installed Omega v19 for i9505 using NO WIPE (yes I know it's not recommended, but I thought if I could do it and everything works then why not!)

unfortunately my bottom left (options) and bottom right (back) keys don't work! I get haptic feedback and they light up so it means it senses me, but nothing happens!

any ideas?

(I would ask in the XDA thread but it doesn't appear to be around, well at least not on google anyway, might try the xda search itself)

my phone keeps saying no signal ... are modems compatible? I didn't flash the modem omega requires, as I thought I had the telecom modem it's all good?

I think you answered your problem in first sentence, you definitely need to do a full wipe as you are going from 4.2 to 4.3, do that and see if you have same issues.

I flash latest modems but not usually required so stay with the one you have unless problems.

restoring the nandroid backup i thought it was stuck at checking md5 sum so i stopped it and now it's in a bootloop

is it supposed to check md5 sum for a long long time?

so i am thinking of flashing a stock telecom 4.2.2 rom. there are 2. do both have NO KNOX?

The locked knox bootloader came with 4.3.

If you go with the stock telecom 4.2.x ROM, LTE won't work by default. You can change a file (or modify it) to get it to work.

i need a rooted device ... am happy to change a file if that's all it takes ... do you know if you can root the tnz 4.3 rom with cf-auto-root? (or any other user friendly method)

anyway downloading both the XXUAME and the latest 4.3 rom for now

The size no longer bothers me after using the note3. I just wish there was a huge improvement in battery life. I don't see why I have to disable most services in order to save on battery life. It's a design f law. Like Adam I run push email
Have bluetooth, wifi and everything else running. But then I'm not in the market for a device just yet.

it can take a while but if in bootloop gop to recovery and re flash rom

no none of the 4.2 roms have Knox bootloader but if you do full wipe you should be fine then flash omega, you can also try advanced restore on apps only, it sometimes works well but you really need to do full wipe

i have an australian telstra i9505 phone

flashed telecom's first ROM XXUAME 4.2.2 in Odin

but it after it properly boots, it gets the telecom logo and then it has the word SAMSUNG but it is stuck there

can't get into recovery. can get into download mode.

any ideas?
