Hi guys, I am hoping you can help me out with a problem I am having with my 2nd hand note.

I have a Vodafone sim - when it's in the phone I have a data connection and can browse the net but when I try to call/text it says 'Not registered on network'. I have tried my sim in another phone and it works fine there.

So I tried a 2 Degree's and a Telecom sim in the Galaxy and they work perfectly. So weird.

I did it under 2.3.6 so I updated to 4.0.3 using system update on the phone

Baseband is: N7000XXLPT

Kernal: 3.0.15-N7000XXLQ2-CL605927

Got the traders details? If not track them down and keep them handy

Sounds like you might be asking for a refund, PM me the IMEI for the handset

He said that it works fine on Telecom so that rules out the IMEI being blocked?

I've just tried it with our iPad's Voda sim - no idea if this should work as it was one of the pre pay iPad ones but it gives me the same error - Yes Telecom sims work fine I've tried two just in case.

Not at all the updates to the EIR are not instant between Vodafone and Telecom

That sucks. Same thing happened to me... Purchased a blacklisted handset off trademe. The only winner is the seller who takes off with your money...

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

And if they are the original seller (not someone else whose whose been duped) you should also report them to TradeMe and the Police.

We can not pass on the owners details, You can take the handset to a Vodafone store and request it to be returned to the fraud team
