Anyone looking to get the Nexus 5 when its announced later this month?

I am considering it if the price is right - just wondered if anyone had any issues ordering the nexus 4 and using youshop last time?

I am looking at getting one but might just see if 2 degree's offers it.
They had the nexus 4 in store late december last year and as the Nexus 4 and 5 are both made by LG I am hoping they will just run out the nexus 4 and start selling the nexus 5

I suspect if 2Degress gets it with will be at the rip off  price of about  $799 again..  I don't expect Google to allow  Kiwis to access the play store again this time round again.  Guess it will be YouShop and unblockus  this time If they will except my ASB Visa card..

I'll be doing my best to order one.  I got the N4 off the play store and fingers crossed get an N5.  Problem is ordering, the N4 sold out in minutes last time.

I hope that Google learned their lesson about supply and demand last time   but if Chromecast is anything to go by they haven't..

Yeah Nexus 4 was the same, sold out in about 10 minutes.  I was lucky enough to get a chromecast and N4 at launch but that was probably a fluke.  I imagine the N5 will sell out in minutes too unless Google actually has sufficient supply this time.

I imagine they will be up on eBay within a week or so, could always hold off and get from there, without the hassle of farting around with youpost etc

With any luck, Google will add Devices to the NZ site this time around (since we've recently gained Music and Books, it's possible).

Failing that, I'm in the US next month so I'll be able to order from Play while over there :)

I wouldn't hold your breath.

The logistics of offering hardware to our tiny little island (and warranties and returns etc) is very different to giving us access to download music and books.

Youshop + Google Play + Unblock-Us or VPN for now.

Going by Googles treatment of Kiwis in the past  there is a 99% chance that the Play store will be locked out for NZ..

Gsmarena.com is reporting that the 16GB base version will be priced at USD $399.

They also said google is planning to release an LTE nexus version.

So I'll probably get the latter.

Disappointing.  (but then again, the nx5 will have a monstrous specs so i never expcted it to be cheap)
