With the next big (non Apple) mobile device show about to start in Berlin, is anyone excited or even mildly interested in what will be revealed? Unfortunately there is so much leaked, either intentionally or unintentionally prior to these events, they become a bit of a procession.
I am looking forward to seeing what the Note 4 is like and what wearables are displayed for the first time, but because things are iterative these days rather than revolutionary, I won't be using fast refresh on any of the show blogs.

I have a feeling we have probably seen it all already thanks to the mentioned leaks. However im hoping a few surprises sneak through. Im always on the look out for my next mobile device, my nexus 5 is about to hit its 1 year anniversary which naturally means its time to move on wink.

I hope it has 3G/LTE and the ability to SMS and voice call but I don't like my chances.

I've composed a list of events happening (in NZT as well) this month, and where you can watch their respective livestreams if available. http://nztechblog.net/2014/08/30/guide-gadget-events-september-2014/

If I have missed something, please let me know!

Quite a busy month for geeks I must say!

IFA done for another year.
So some nice mobile offerings. The Note 4 (not so sure about the Edge), Z3 and particularly the mini and Tab compact, new Moto X, and even the HTC 820. But no HTC Tab. I think that is going to have to wait until the launch of Android L.

Smartwatch wise, it seems an HTC offering isn't going to happen anytime soon but some nice offerings otherwise that are starting to look half decent. Might have to check under the Christmas tree this year to see if there are any small expensive looking parcels.
On topic, but not in this forum, the 4K and 8K TV offerings gained my attention. Also the promise of 4K bluray players. I struggle to see the point of curved displays, but the fact that LG and Samsung produced large displays that you can adjust the curve all the way back to flat is kind of cool. Has made me sit on my hands as far as updating any of our FHD TVs at the moment though with 8K just peeping above the parapet.
I didn't pay much attention to the laptop or 'proper' computer hardware announcements. Anybody excited by announcements there?
Or has the GZ focus already shifted to this week's big reveal on Sep 10 (our time)?

I think i was most pleased with the Moto X! I am seriously thinking of replacing my HTC One M7 with the Moto device.

What did others feel about the Moto device?

If i had to upgrade from my Nexus 5 to anything, it would probably be this. With a hint. And a 360.

this is one device i would definitely wait for reviews

a 5.2 inch 1080p display with "only" 2300 mAh battery sounds like trouble
