Man, I love me some HTC and I've been hanging out for another big screen since the M7 Max, but this, yeesh. It's a V20 with a smaller (non-removable) battery and no headphone jack. What were they thinking?

Ah yes, the 'smaller battery' feature of the 6s and the 'no headphone jack' feature of the 7. Genius.

Incidentally I have an iPhone 7 Plus and it's...fine. iPhones are at least meaningfully differentiated from the rest of the smartphone crop.

Perhaps I was expecting too much when this concept video posted by a former HTC designer teased all sorts of neat contextual buttonless gesture control. Then again, I'm only disappointed because HTC didn't get the basics right with this one. Bring on the 11.

God what a fail of a phone. It's like they took every dumb idea and put it into one phone hoping it would something worthwhile. It didn't.

Also @NikT apparently there won't be an 11, this is their new premium range.

A disappointing start to 2017 for HTC: S821 with 4GB RAM, only 3000mAh battery for a 5.7" screen in a chassis slightly longer than the LG V20, no wireless charging, no waterproofing and finally no 3.5mm jack.

Well onwards with S8 announcement and even LG G6 then

I'd love an updated htc re camera.

When ever I show it/use it when I am about, people stop and ask where to buy..

Another good product that failed in marketing reason.

They stated the other day that they felt the 10 was the wrong direction... a shame because the 10 is the best phone they've ever made... This looks like cheap.

Picked up by HTC 10 from Noel Lemmings boxing day sales for $699 😊

But are we going to actually see it for sale here ?
The communication from HTC nz on Facebook was abysmal. Lots of ads for the HTC 10 and 6months of we can't tell you if it will be released in nz...

@afe66: Picked up by HTC 10 from Noel Lemmings boxing day sales for $699 😊

Me too. And I'm loving it. My One M7 had started to get very laggy and the battery wasn't lasting a whole day any more, even with quite low levels of usage. So I particularly I love the longer battery life and quick charging of the 10. By the time I go to bed at night, the level is usually around 45%. I leave it off the charger overnight, plug it in first thing in the morning, and by the time I leave for work it's almost at 100% again. I bought a good 128GB microSDXC card and formatted it as internal storage, and I couldn't be happier.

One down side is that it's hard to get accessories for it. I wanted a case and couldn't find one anywhere so ended up ordering a couple from MobileFun. They took a while to get here, but did arrive.

As a few people have them now, perhaps we should unlock the owners' thread?
