I've just found that my 3 month old Oppo R9s will not allow an alternative messaging to be used.

I installed Textra for the big fonts but every time a message is received, the phone reverts to the default messaging app. According to various posts online, this is by design.

For a $600 phone, this is BS. Next stop is Noel Leeming to give the phone back.

There are many phones out there that don't allow this - one being the iPhone.

The phone is still working as intended.
