Son's A73 got a Samsung update last night. Ever since it says No Service. Skinny SIM.

On Wifi he gets VoWifi.
Turn off Wifi - No service.
Put SIM in another phone - works.
Put working SIM from another phone into A73 - No service
Factory reset phone - No service.

Any ideas? Doesn't look like Samsung will let us downgrade to yesterday's firmware.

This sounds extremely familiar. See the thread below but on a S25U1. If you can downgrade reminder that device is going to get wiped.

Although is that a NZ A73 or an imported one?

Cannot select any network. When I try select network manually it finds none. Other phones find Spark, One and 2degrees. Was set to 5g preferred. Changing that does nothing.

It is like the update has either removed all knowledge of NZ networks or knackered the mobile antenna or such like. Everything else seems to work - WiFi, Bluetooth etc.

Contact Samsung and see what they say - this is grounds for a warranty replacement/repair if their own update basically bricked your phone.

And u have done a Google search and tried the offered solutions.

To fix "no service" on a Samsung A73 after an update, restart the phone, toggle Airplane Mode, or reset network settings (Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset network settings). Other solutions include reseating the SIM card, updating system apps, or clearing the system cache partition.

Restart the phone - yes, tried
Toggle Airplane Mode - yes, tried
Reset network settings (Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset network settings) - yes, tried
Reseating the SIM card - tried a working SIM from another phone - no joy
Reseating the SIM card - tried a working SIM in 2nd SIM slot - no joy, tried
SIM works in another phone

updating system apps, or clearing the system cache partition - after all the above went for factory reset and restarts and network settings resets - no joy

Sending it off for a "repair" tomorrow.

Was hoping someone else with an A73 might have some comment on whether the update worked for them - or were they too scared to try it. :-)
