The default pop email app for Android (1.6) is crap.  Anyone know of other good email apps out there (paid/ free)?

Gmail app works fine...

Why not just get Gmail to pull your pop accounts, much easier and means you only need one point of interaction.

hmmmm, Cyril, you could be onto something there!  The only negative side of this is that I only want to use the email client on my mobile when I need it.  The gmail app sends me a notification for every email I receive (which isn't many to my gmail account)... my main email account is yahoo.

I suppose I could maintain the app settings to not notify me of incomings emails into my gmail account... hmmm.

Thanks -  now time to play with some settings.

Cheers, Stevo

Steveonz: I had a quick Google and found, downloaded and installed "Seven" for android. Looks like it might be what you want. Here is a link and a couple of screenshots I took off my phone for you.

The example below is for Hotmail, but it also explicitly supports Yahoo.  (I've been more or less and exclusive Gmail user for the past 3 years. "Gears" lets you do Gmail offline).

I've been using K9 for the past few days. Definitly better than the default email app on Android. Will review the seven email client inthe next couple days.
