I've opened this thread  from the previous  one that was more centered around where to get deals from and  some of the ordering process that people such as myself went through.

Just to kick things off I just received my HTC Desire, one for me and one for my wife today around 12.30 it was shipped from www.clove.co.uk on friday aroung 9.30am.
That was some fo the fastest shipping and customs clearance that I' ve had so far :)

Parcel went Fedex International priority (45 GBP) and I liased with the fedex people in AUCK and in Chch throughout  the delivery, once I had some form of confirmation ( which was Fedex phoning me up at 8.20am today).
The Process with clove was great and they were responsive , professional and helpful at all times, nice to deal with a company that covers all those bases.
The only thing was, I never received notification of the shipment or tracking number. No matter, they were here really quick.
My Wife ( should Wife be with a capital W? or small 'w' hmmmm ...God or god ;) is trying to work her way through  so I may get her to put some comments  from the point of a rather non technical/non enthusiats point of view.

I was gonna get an HD2 and would still be very very happy with that choice but what with windows mobile 7 or lack thereof and more to the point lack of many features (SD card, multitasking etc etc etc) in the operating system and the recent worm doing the rounds I'm feeling a little more secure in going the android route.

So, I'm happy to answer questions that peeps may have about the phone or process I went through.
the phone has just done an over the AIR update (wifi) to version 1.15.405.4 really quick and easy.
Now time to search for apps the first will be something along  'prey' or wave secure. both of which are location programs for when/if the phone gets lost /stolen.
prey I think is free but the android version os still in development...
