Didn't look good for Slingshot last night on Fair Go!

If there Telemarkets are so pushy like that, it's really going to turn off potential customers!

I didn't see FairGo, but I DID have two different salespeople from Slingshot call me within two days offering me the same thing. You'd think they'd keep a better record of who has told them they aren't interested!

slingshots call centre was awful. When I rang up a year or so ago to join, I got all the way through the process and got to the point where the CSR asked me if I had a pen or paper to write down account number etc.

I didnt and asked her to email it to me which she refused, I then explained that I had nothing on me at the time (was on a cell phone) and to email me the info or a link at which stage she said "oh whatever, what kind of person doesnt have a pen" and hung up on me.

I rang back and got the exact same CSR, I tried explaining again and got told to f*ck off.

I ended up tracking down the customer services GM for slingshot and had a bit of a moan, and in the end they gave me 6 months free.

Swapped back to telecom after a year of slingshot frustrating the heck out of me

You know the time and date of that, Slingshot record the calls and under the offical infomation act you can get a copy of the recordings.

I can't see how telemarketing is effective at all, it must be otherwise they wouldn't keep doing it.

Some people are just really unlucky, I for one never have had a call from Slingshot asking me to join (I am also a customer )

And like I said before it's not really Slingshot at fault here, it's the telemarketing company employing rude people.

Mum gets heaps asking for mister malcom and other random wrong interpritations of the name, they always say they wont call back but they do. She's far too polite to them.

As they(FairGo) had said they had a higher than normal % of complaints about SS/CP.

You can see my post http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=81&TopicId=29326 in Jan about them and they did finally stop calling me after someone from CP contacted me.

Every ISP had problems but alot of people i've talked to personally had got marketing calls from them and yes they are very "agressive" in trying to sell their services.

Also Fairgo said to put your name on the markering.org.nz website but do CP/SS use it?

Sorry. But that's an absolute cop-out. The main issues lie totally with corporations; & has, for well over a decade!

The simple fact that whilst the class of company executives remain protected from ANY general public communicability, then this situation will only worsen. It's easy to blame the workers at the bottom of the company chain, when those at the top claim total denability & can't even be spoken to by Joe Blogs.

I am someone who has NO TIME for marketers of ANY form: they ring, they get one free line. If I don't like it, I say, "no thanks" & hang up. & that is nearly almost always! But, let's look at CB_24's original statement. If it really was going to be that damaging, they would do something about it; wouldn't they?? Logic suggests, yes. But remember the adage, 'any publicity is good publicity'. And Balchy's first post: at least a year ago?? & what's changed?? This is the same BS that insinualtes itself into most corporations. Look at the startup problems that have existed with both Jetstar & 2 degrees: nearly identical in terms of internet issues. Start up a company, the suckers will join because the opposition have proven themselves no better. They join in hope, only to be let down again.

Then what happens: we get executive BS with a smiling face saying everything will be alright if you give us time, whilst those having to deal with the public's ire suffer. Is it no wonder people stress out. I bet the tele-marketers have minimal databases to work from, with totally insufficient backup from company infrastructure.

Let's remember that I am one of Slingshot's reasonably happy customers. Maybe that might change, if I find out that my recent video streaming issues are ISP-related. But that's for another thread.
