Hi, boys & girls!

Software Freedom Day (softwarefreedomday.org), or SFD is close at hand: this Saturday, 20 September
This is an annual INTERNATIONAL event, also held at various venues locally: Auckland, Hibiscus Coast, Wellington, Christchurch, Waikato/Hamilton, and a few other venues, to promote the adoption & use of FREE software (as in liberty/freedom; by extension like beer too), regardless of OS

Of course you could expect a strong GNU/Linux representation, but at the end of the day the freedom to choose is up to the user, and you are more than welcome to stick with the OS you feel comfortable with; be it Windows, Mac or Linux (etc).
Heck! You can join us even if you don't agree, and you can argue your point convincingly

So, please! Come one, come all! Bring your friends & family & make a day of it :)

[I expect a couple of flames & some flack, so I'll throw a couple of links in your direction in the hopes of distracting you:]

(P.S. I'd like to thank everybody who's contributed their time, energies, patience & $$$ to get this year's event going. Good luck!)

Sorry for the confusion, guys

I thought the info would've been posted on the last link. Will ask admin to revisit

Besides the events being held in Hibiscus Coast & Hamilton/Waikato (excuse my geography; still pretty new here), we'll be hosting a small "show & tell" to any interested parties @ the Devonport Ferry Wharf complex (wharfit.co.nz) on Saturday.

I apologise for the late hour of this post.
If anyone's looking for more info, please post your queries, or feel free to PM me

Sounds interesting, I'll be keen to make it (but not sure if I will, I work in Manukau Saturdays - I guess if I start early I might have enough time to get there...
