I installed TV pack over the top of my previous Vista Ultimate media centre. It recognises my Nova T-500 twin DVB-T tuners but when I do a scan it only finds the two radio stations. Now I know this is a problem others have seen but cannot recall the solution. Its something to do with NZ using 8 MHz bands and everyone else using 7 MHz I think. is there either (a) a country I can select that will then find the Auckland Waitara DVB-T signals or a way of manually scanning to pick them up?

I had done a fresh build and had the xml (its in a hidden folder)... that said following the instructions re deleting it and restarting the service did not seem to help.
Set outrageous fortune to record (9:30 pm-10:30 pm) from the guide after having done the steps in the blog, rebooted, stayed completely away from my media center, went back to it now and it had not even recorded at all. Must have lost its 'red dot'. It either seems to do this or or stop recording at one minute past the hour.
So I got a htpc setup yesterday with a PVR150 for Sky decoder and a Nova S Plus for Freeview. I have installed the TV pack and the other stuff as per the instructions and everything seems to be working. The problem is WMC won't pick up any of the Freeview channels when doing a full scan of the Optus D1 sat. It gets most of the Sky channels but obviously these are srambled. If I manually do a scan of the Freeview transponders - 12456 & 12483 - it still won't pick them up. What am I doing wrong?

I have the same problem with it not picking up channels, but I have a freeview STB and with that plugged in at the other end of the house vmc finds all the channels then.
I had to rebuild my pc back to my old config so the waf could record the F-word... Would of been big troubles if i missed that.
Im going to build a teck machine to see if i can get it going.
Re Freeview not being picked up, i got that a few times and found a reboot fixed it or if that didnt work i did a scan with DVBViewer which found them and then did the MCE scan and it would find them... Dont ask me why!!
I wonder if there are changes that need to be made to XMLTVNZ (I'm guessing thats where most of you get your EPG from?). If you can manually record then Media Center is handling that on its own but if you use the guide then maybe it relies on certain information from the Guide.Bin file or somewhere that Revens XMLTVNZ doesnt cater for yet?
I'd be interested to see if there is a difference in the Recoding.xml file that is produced when doing a manual recording to the one produced when setting a recording using the guide........

Installing the update on top of any existing VMC install seems to be guaranteed to cause issues. It is recommended to only be installed on a fresh Vista SP1 installation.
Remember that there is no H.264 support in the update as well so I wouldn't expect to see any picture but I believe it will still pick up the stations on the scan OK.

I installed it over an existing VMC installation and had no issues It was a demonstration machine (I work in a retail shop) that hadn't had the TV Setup wizard run though, so maybe it will only work if the TV section in VMC hasn't been set up...
What's the story with using the Dual LNB that sky installs? Has anyone got this working? I beleive it has a Low Band of 10750 and high band of 11800, not sure what the transition frequency is though?? Anybody using the same dish/LNB?

Nope the issue with recording's failing is when you are getting the guide OTA (over the air). Ie using the MHEG5 guide from the dvb-s signal which fiji now does for you.

Its all good (ie it is what I am doing), have a look at a post back on page 7 by rustygonad which describes how to tune it. Mine was a 10750 though some will be 11300. Look in your advanced settings in sky - should tell you what number you need to enter.
