Have a couple of first hand reports from contracting friends that have been laid off a long way ahead of their contract end dates. They indicated that NZ Comms source of cash has dried up or they simply have spent it all. They are said to be quickly shedding contracting staff hirerd specifically to get them ready for launch. They've indicated the remaining staff are not equipped to get the job done correctly or on time. While this likely won't delay the NZ Com launch, it will no doubt mean that they are ill prepared for it. Is this the end for a vibrant competitor to VF and TC?

Can anyone confirm this or add to it?

This kind of rumours shows up every three or four months. Until there's an official announcement it's rumours - and since this company has been the target of so many of the same stories in the last two years, best wait and see.

Yes. They've indicated within the next few months. Sure, they've said things like that many times before but I'm sure they're feeling the pressure to be finished in urban areas before telecom.

I don't believe that is quit true, as they have had inbound roaming active for nearly a year now:

That's why the let the roamers try it out first :) Tho, I wouldn't hold that up as benchmark, as they are of course still rolling out their sites etc, so coverage would be patchy.
