Last Friday (12/12/15) got a call from a marketer working for Sky. Normally I hang up straightaway, but I gave her the chance to offer Sky for "$5 per week" - basic package with My Sky+, she offered all the packages but I only want Sky Sports. They came yesterday and installed My Sky+ with Sky Sports for $39 per month.cool

That includes basic and sport.  It will be for 12 months and after that it will go back to full price.

Just cancelled after my 12 month deal at $58/month ran out (incl. MySky, HD, Sports + Movies). Full price jumped up to about $135!

Now waiting for 3 months to pass so I can sign up again.

Yes, I've got all the basic channels included, Freeview etc, Sky News etc, UKTV  etc, Discovery Etc, MTV etc.
I'm committed for 6 months, and the deal lasts 12 months. I'll be cancelling if the price goes up substantially - I've got plenty to watch via my Roku box, but I will enjoy having Sky Sports again.

It may be worth setting a reminder for yourself to cancel after 11 months.  You have to give 30 days notice of cancellation and price jumps up significantly.  Mine went to @ $128.
So if you set yourself a reminder for 11 months then you can give your 30 days notice and avoid paying the increased charge altogether.

I signed up for basic + Sky Sports + Sky Movies + HD, monthly price is supposed to be $59 (basic + 2 packages is $49 + $10 for HD), however they are only billing be $49.22 each month... Thought it might have been a mistake at first but its been 3 months. Yolo.

Update: I have cancelled sky, they extended the good deal they got me back by three months but wouldn't extend it anymore. I'll wait three months and see,

How did you get this deal? Was it a cold call or did you sign up?

When I signed up 10 months ago they suggested I call back when it expired and they would see what they can do to extend it. Anybody tried that? I intended to in a couple of months.

I got my deal as a result of a cold call (My Sky+, Basic plus Sports package for $39) per month.
You could phone up and ask for the same deal (but don't expect too much).
I just received my first account...
Interestingly the bill just says "Basic" and "Monthly Services". There is no mention of Sports or MySky+ (but I have got them).

Such a random marketing approach.
