That sounds strange... I get emailed a bill each month.

Do you have one of the new TLDs though? Like mail@host.digital ? There's quite a few sites (like NZ Lotto and Orcon) just just outright refuse to use anything that doesn't end in a 2-4 character TLD (like .nz or .com)

Nope I use a gmail account for all generic billing stuff.

I called up, got the deal, somebody coming over on Monday.

Interestingly the lady on the phone asked if I had been a SKY member in the past 2 months, so maybe it's not 1 month as suggested here.

You can call Sky directly (0800 SKYSKY) or go online, and ask to have the HD ticket added to your account. It's $9.95 regardless if you get it through the telesales team or Sky TV directly.

Its damn crazy that in 2017 you have to pay an extra $9.95/month for HD. Remember all the key Freeview channels come as HD without needing the extra ticket.

I've canceled my Sky package. The effective date is the 21st of Feb. Should I then wait 30 days to take up this offer or can I call straight away?

It's terrible, It's not costing Sky any more if more people are on HD, once the signal is up in the sky it doesn't matter how many people are capturing it.
SD shouldn't even be an option.

Rubbish, I agree with Milutiche, SD shouldn't be an option in a pay for view service today - you can't even buy a SD TV. It's the equivalent of Spotify offering up mono as standard, then charging an additional to upgrade to stereo!

But we kiwi punters keep supporting Sky and their appalling attitude to customer service, so we only have ourselves to blame IMHO.

to be fair when I left the UK in 2015 Sky and virgin both charged extra for HD too, which is daft in this day and age.
