So after learning last week that Spark will not renew Fan Pass its likely going to be better off for me to switch to proper Sky at some point, however I still have 3.5 months of Fanpass left so not in a super hurry.

Assuming the Sky Deal above via Andy is still current, what is Vodafone's current offerings with Vodafone TV? Also seen no word with Sky's Android puck (is it still worth hanging out for?)

I gave Vodafone a call and their deals are currently no better than signing up to Sky itself with no special perks or anything, only difference is saving $15ish with not paying for MySky recording.

Even FibreX is no cheaper.

dukester:
kharris: You could try ringing 0800 4 SKY TV (0800 475 988)

My deal was a couple of months ago but I got:
$48 a month deal:
- Sky Basic
- Mysky+
- Sky Movies
- Sky Sport

I got the same deal but for 12 months.
I was a sky customer but cancelled 12 months prior to there tele marketer deal that was too good to refuse.

This number doesn't seem to be working anymore. Can we get thread updated with the correct answer?

Hi
Regarding the telemarketing sky deal, our current deal runs out next month with Sky. If we terminate that, how quickly can we sign up to a new deal with the telemarketing team but through a different account holder using the same address? Does sky look at the address or account name when deciding?

Give Andy a call. He'll have the answer.

Are we good just to call/message Andy on that number without any prior warning?  In the market as a new customer for the sports, and that offer mentioned looks very tempting.  Thanks.

I don't think you can - haven't seen it anywhere.

But you can look up the billing history and work it out from there based on the promo period you signed up for and when you started

Curious. I have called Sky to cancel a few times over the years preparing for my stand down and resubscribing at the cheaper rates. Usually, they offer something like 3 months free Sports or half-price movies for 3 months, but nothing substantial.

This time they looked at my account saw what I was paying and said that they would like to retain me and would I be prepared to accept 3 months for $45 for what I was paying now. Hell yes. So, they have kept me for a while longer!

We have two installs of Sky. One at a holiday home in Nth Canterbury direct with Sky which we have maintained over 15 years and the other in ChCh City through Vodafone which we have had for 6 years.
As most will know, Vodafone do not offer Soho free of charge with Sky Entertainment and Sport, as do Sky for direct customers. As well the Soho bonus, dealing with Sky direct is a lot easier than through Vodafone.

I rang Andy and spoke to him about swapping from Vodafone to Sky directly, but as he only handleS "new installs" he was unable to help.
The only way to get his deal was to cancel with Vodafone, return the equipment to Sky and wait the 3 month "stand-down"

I have just had an interesting exchange of emails with Sky.

My first request was "Can I swap from Vodafone to Sky keeping the same MySky decoder?"  The answer was YES
My second was "how much will the monthly bill be?" The answer was Starter $25.99 + Entertainment $25.50 + Sport $31.99 + Mysky $15 thus the Total=$98.48
So you can see a "New customer" can get the same at half price ($48)

At the moment I pay $82.47 per month to Vodafone for the same service (less Soho).

I then asked them that on the basis of being that as a long standing, loyal customer, surely they could match the Vodafone charge which would just entail dropping the $15 Mysky charge.
NO DEAL. Interestingly enough, I pay no Mysky charge on the holiday home installation because the initial contract 15 years ago gave it for free.

Whether the people answering emails are disconnected with the "marketing" people and just read from a prepared sheet, but the new CEO of sky needs to knock some heads together and teach their staff to be flexible enough to keep long standing customers from becoming disenchanted and leaving. There a plenty of people "gaming" the subscription to Sky. My message to Sky is look after those that have been loyal and be accommodating as long as the requests are reasonable.  The final message from Sky had the nerve to say how much they appreciated "Loyal Customers".  Red rag to a bull!! My reply was "ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS" or it should of read LACK OF ACTIONS

I thought the Sky deal people were not Sky, so talk to the Sky Deal people

The loyal customer issue applies to everywhere. Telco, Sky, power, and more so ons probably
